The Shops at Heavenly Village has partnered with Desolation Hotel, Maggies Restaurant, Untethered and the South Tahoe Chamber to offer the South Shore’s largest free trick or treat event for kids, complete with a $1,000 costume contest . In addition, they are raising $10,000 for the Boys and Girls Club Lake Tahoe.
“It’s vital to have safe trick or treating for the kids in our community. I’m so proud of all the stores and organizations that volunteered and agreed to give out candy for the kids. It’s really going to be an amazing event,” said Gary Casteel, CEO of Trans Sierra Investments/The Shops at Heavenly Village.
The event will include over 50 candy booths from all the businesses in town and multiple local community organizations, bounce houses, slides and rides, zombie DJs, carnival games and prizes, and live music by Ted Kennedy and the residents Additionally, a specially decorated Magic Fusion Halloween matinee will be presented at the LOFT Live Theater at 4:30 p.m. South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue will be there with their fire truck along with the South Lake Tahoe Police Department handing out candy and stickers.

“We want to thank the Shops at Heavenly Village and the Desolation Hotel for hosting the event and the businesses in the village for rising to the occasion for our community. The South Tahoe Chamber has honored to support him,” said Duane Wallace, CEO of the South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce.
A $1,000 costume contest is scheduled on the main stage at 6:30 p.m., based on different categories for children. The Shops at Heavenly didn’t forget about the mothers who take care of their little elves. There is also a “witch walk”. Mums are encouraged to ‘dress to impress’ in their best Halloween costume for a chance to win great prizes.
“We don’t do anything small in the Heavenly Village,” Murin said. “I want this to be the best and biggest trick or treat event to ever hit the south coast. The kids in our community deserve it! I want to thank the shops in the village and everyone who is supporting to our children.”
The event is free to the public from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Heavenly Village.
