Enjoy affordable family fun, live music and arts and crafts this weekend at the Bensenville Park District’s Harvest Fest at Fischer Farm, 16W680 Grand Ave, Bensenville. Harvest Fest takes place Friday through Sunday, Sept. 30-Oct. 2.
The event will feature food, fun and live music for the whole family! Each day, the festival will operate a harvest shop, food tent, beer garden and lawn games. Activities throughout the day include goat feeding, bounce houses, art vendors, crafts, pumpkin painting, children’s games and Subie’s World, presented by Grand Subaru of Bensenville.
The Friday activities start when the doors open at 4pm and will last until 8pm
Activities include children’s programs, a Kona ice truck, glow sticks and bonfire and s’mores, plus other daily activities and live music by the Hat Guys from 5-8pm at Grand Subaru/95.9 FM The River Music Stage.
There will be early entry at 10 a.m. Saturday for Pumpkin Yoga, presented by Wood Street Fitness, which runs from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. The activity is only $5, and pre-registration is required, as each participant receives a free pumpkin. Participants can register in person at the Deer Grove Recreation Center, 1000 W. Wood Street, Bensenville. Pumpkin Yoga participation (with receipt) offers half-price daily admission to Harvest Fest at the door.
Doors open to the public at 11:00. From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, attendees can enjoy NEDSRA inclusive activities, goat feeding, a hay pyramid, bounce houses (corn maze and jack o’lantern), play park pumpkin patch with free pumpkins for kids while supplies last, rides, a petting zoo, crafts for kids, arts and crafts vendors in Artisan Alley and art balloons. The day’s activities also include face painting, bonfire and s’mores and glow sticks, plus live music and other family fun.
Saturday’s live music lineup includes performances by The Noize (11am-1pm), Dan Asio (1-2 & 4-5pm), One Hott Mess (2-4pm) and Run Forrest Run from 5-8 pm.
Doors open at 11:30am on Sunday, except for those participating in Wood Street Fitness’ pumpkin yoga from 10:30am to 11:15am. The activity is only $5, and pre-registration is required, as each participant receives a free pumpkin and a half pumpkin. daily admission price to Harvest Fest upon presentation of a paid receipt for Pumpkin Yoga. Starting at 11:30 a.m., attendees can participate in inclusive NEDSRA activities, goat feeding, a hay pyramid, bounce houses (corn maze and jack o’lantern), pumpkin patch with free pumpkins for kids while supplies last, hay rides, a carina. petting zoo, crafts for kids, arts and crafts vendors in Artisan Alley and balloon art. Additional activities on Sunday include balloon art and two animal encounter shows.
Musical performances on Sunday include Don’t Talk to Strangers from 11.30am to 1.30pm and Birdhead from 2.30pm to 4.30pm as the Harvest Festival closes.
Tickets are available for $10 at the door (free for children under 2) and $25 for a three-day weekend pass. Parking is free and a shuttle service will be provided to and from Fischer Farm. Full information can be found at BvilleParks.org/harvestfest.
