Autumn at the Arboretum
Returning for its 17th year, Autumn in the Arboretum celebrates the season with this year’s theme, “An Autumn Fairytale.” With more than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and pumpkins, this year’s event features Cinderella’s carriage and pumpkin houses, which make up Pumpkin Village. It also has a pumpkin patch available for purchase. And if you want more magic than just pumpkins, there’s a hay bale maze, along with music and more. General admission is $20 for adults, $12 for children (ages 2-12), and anyone under 2 gets in for free. Pumpkins can be purchased separately. The festival has scheduled tickets, so book your tickets in advance.

At Pumpkin Nights in Arlington, you’ll embark on a Halloween path unlike any you’ve ever experienced. There’s a 10-foot-tall jack-o’-lantern, the world’s largest gourd guitar, a 40-foot handmade flying dragon, and more. Weekday admission for adults (ages 13 and older) is $18, while tickets for children (ages 4-12) are $14. All children under the age of 3 enter for free. On weekends, admission is $26 for adults and $18 for children. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Grace Avenue United Methodist Church’s annual pumpkin patch has everything you need to celebrate fall. In addition to the patch being open all October, visitors can enjoy a host of different events throughout the month, including a block party, craft night and more. Face painting is available for kids on weekends, and there’s a ride, bounce house, pumpkin play area and crushed ice. Entry is free.

If you’re looking for a pumpkin patch the whole family can enjoy, Blase Family Farm has plenty to do for everyone. Monday through Friday, your ticket includes the chance to visit the zoo, hay rides, and a pumpkin patch. On weekends, admission includes food as well as a ride and entry to the petting zoo. Before you leave, you must make a reservation for this patch; cost is $10 for ages 2 and older.

Located on a small farm, the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch has it all: mazes, cartoon cutouts for photos, a pumpkin train, rides and a playground. Oh, and there are also the pumpkins. If you feel like having a picnic, there are tables available for your use. There is a parking fee of USD 10 per car on weekdays and USD 20 per car on weekends. Clients must also make reservations for morning, afternoon or evening sessions. However, all activities are free.

In its eighth annual event, Lola’s Local Market brings weekend activities, Sunday vendors and bountiful pumpkins for sale all week long to its patch. Featured activities include pumpkin and face painting, a pallet maze, straw rides and family games. There is a $5 parking fee, but admission is free. Each activity carries an individual cost. In addition to the pumpkin patch, the market will be open for treats and gifts.
