Haunted Ship of Duluth – The nearly 700-foot vintage ore ship SS William A. Irvin in Duluth will be donning its spooky decorations again this October because the Haunt is on! The crew attends haunted national conventions and the actors graduate from the school of fear to forge a world of horror, tormenting all the senses. This year’s theme “What Are You Afraid Of?” aims to answer that question by subjecting guests to almost every scare imaginable. This includes visual startles, but also smells, sounds, lights, temperature changes, and perhaps the occasional mild shock.
Every year the site is remade with new horrors. Can you sail Duluth’s Haunted Ship?
Boo at the zoo – Lake Superior Zoo, Duluth. Your family’s annual fall tradition returns on October 15th, 22nd and 29th from 10am to 4pm! Bring the whole family and explore the zoo with endless trick-or-treat stations, an ALL-NEW Boo-tique, special Halloween-themed animal treats, food trucks, games and activities, and MUCH MORE!
Haunted Shack Haunted Ridge – in Carlton, Minnesota. Minnesota’s Scariest Haunted House and Hayride.
The Haunted Shack started several years ago as a community driven haunted house. It was just a small three hour production held in a small 600 square foot basement of the local fire hall in Gary New Duluth. Since then, a lot of effort has helped the hut expand into a thriving enchanted attraction!
Enchanted route of the devil’s escape – in Finlayson, Minnesota. Get a big scare for some money! The Haunted Trail is a half-mile trek through the woods where you face your fears as they come to life before your very eyes. There is no going back once they give you the ride, as that would be silly. You have to face the fears in front of you. The trail is dark and shadowy with things following you from a distance, bloodshot red eyes, their intent unknown. Other creatures watch your every move. Orbs of light can be seen in the distance, not natural or man-made. They blink on and off, as if trying to speak. You see here incorporeal beings that speak to you, predict your fate to whomever looks.
Enchanted Forest – in Saginaw, Minnesota. The Enchanted Forest is open. Bring your family, friends and come enjoy. We are family oriented. It’s for all ages.
North Coast Scenic Railway – The Great Pumpkin Train in Duluth. Ride aboard the annual Pumpkin Train Express to the once-a-year pumpkin patch on this very special weekend.
Each passenger can choose their own pumpkin to take with them. The train ride takes about 90 minutes in total and you will return to the Duluth Depot, where you can stay all day to visit the railroad museum (included and open until 5:00 p.m.), listen to live music, enjoy bounce houses, food vendors, and more. Helpful Hint: Bring a bag to carry pumpkins – grocery bags work great.
North Shore Scenic Railroad – Train of terror – in Duluth. Come aboard for the terror of Northland’s biggest and best adults-only costume party. Board the train at the Duluth Depot and enjoy a 3-hour shore excursion (no stop at Two Harbors), with live music on a barge, and a DJ spinning some tunes in another car, two fully stocked cash. -bars, and all the fun costumed passengers.
Halloween Haunt at Valleyscare – in Shakopee, Minnesota. ValleySCARE is back this fall with a vengeance. Watch the park take a terrifying turn at the Midwest’s largest Halloween event. With over 75 rides, haunted mazes, scare zones and monsters roaming the park, there’s something to satisfy everyone’s devilish desire. Guests can also battle the fog and darkness as they approach their favorite attractions.
