Gordon: The Gordon Fire Tower will host an open climbing day from 1-4pm at the fire tower, 9469 E. Bass Lake Road. Members of the public are invited to climb 100 feet to the historic tower cabin and explore the grounds of the site, which is managed by the non-profit Friends of the Bird Sanctuary. Visit the

Superior: The Cape of the Lakes Fair will take place from August 2nd to 7th in Superior, with free admission on August 2nd for visitors to check out. Doors will open at 5pm on Tuesdays, 2pm on Wednesdays to Fridays and noon on the weekend. Poplar: The Poplar Volunteer Fire Department presents the Poplar Fun Days. The event begins with a golf scramble at 9 a.m. at Poplar Golf Course. A parade in downtown Poplar takes place at 10 a.m., followed at 11 a.m. by carnival games, rides, bounce houses and more at the Poplar Fire Hall. A cornhole tournament will take place at 2pm and new this year will be a dodgeball tournament. Deepwater Music will offer live music from 11-1:30 p.m., Amnicon Revival from 2-3:30 p.m., Shakin’ Not Stirred from 4-5:30 p.m., and Last Call from 7-11 p.m.
