The 2022 Lakeshore Balloon Glow is scheduled for the riverfront in downtown Manitowoc on Friday night, August 19th.
During an appearance Thursday on WOMT’s After Further Review with Jason and Tina Prigge, event spokeswoman Heather Wesley of Fox Communities Credit Union said they plan to have six hot air balloons tethered to the ground at sunset.
“What’s so beautiful is when the sun goes down and it’s dusk, you see the propane lights heating up … these beautiful balloons, and it lights up this whole area,” he explained. “It’s a sight to behold.”
Wesley added that they are excited to welcome back the “Webfooters” Water Ski Show to Fremont.
“They were a big hit last year,” he said. “So much so that we have invited them to return this year. We’re excited to have them on the water and put on another amazing show for our guests.”
Other festivities scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. that day include a traveling snake show, a demonstration by Lakeshore Robotics, bounce houses, Mischief and Magic with a host of acts, 13 food trucks, corn on the cob served by the Lions Club, and a drinks area.
The night will conclude with a fireworks show.
Proceeds from this year’s Lakeshore Balloon Glow will go to support new holiday decorations in downtown Manitowoc, specifically designated for the beautiful 26-foot Christmas tree that will become the focal point of the Burger Boat Park during the holiday season.
