It’s still a little far on the calendar, though Business Association of the Center wants to make sure Craig residents have an amazing fall.

DBA’s sixth annual Fall Fest takes place from 10am to 5pm on Saturday, September 17th in downtown Craig, with a variety of entertainment for all ages.

Organizer Kandee Dilldine said the season-changing prelude began several years ago in a different incarnation.

“At first we were doing more Oktoberfest, but then we changed it to Fall Fest,” he said. “At first we wanted more like a real Oktoberfest with beer, but then with our home event, we wanted it to be more of a focus. Now we have it as a more fun, family-friendly event with live music and activities like a ‘farewell’ event in summer”.

Five food and beverage vendors, 11 craft vendors and booths will be set up with activities organized by local groups such as Moffat County Libraries, Moffat County High School Cheerleaders and the Chamber of Craig’s Trade.

“Everything is free, and all you have to pay for is food and drinks,” Dilldine said.

There will also be an MCHS robotics program cornhole tournament fundraiser, as well as bounce houses and a pumpkin patch for the kids.

Among those signed up to provide songs of the day are several Western Slope musical acts, including a country singer Johnny Bird and guitar duo Lincoln Pants Band.

Dilldine said she was looking forward to the one in Grand Junction Williams Brothers Band to be a success with his return to Craig.

“They’ve been here before and they’re very popular, they’ve got great music,” he said.

In addition to using space in Alice Pleasant Park downtown, Fall Fest will also expand to Yampa Avenue.

“What I like is being able to close the street for the street festival part so we can all come together,” Dilldine said.
