There are plenty of great opportunities to get out of the house this weekend and enjoy the cooler weather.

It all kicks off on Friday evening with the Taste of the Beach VIP Dinner and Arrogant Steak Cookoff at the Seville Quarter.

Afterwards, you can head to the Sanders Beach-Corinne Jones Resource Center for a midnight screening of the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Boo at the Zoo kicks off its season this weekend and runs through October 30th.

XIII Annual Taste of the Beach

When: 4:35pm Friday (VIP dinner) and 10am Saturday (festival) Where: Pensacola Beach.

Taste of the Beach kicks off Friday night with a special, elegant and progressive VIP dinner on the island. Saturday’s free outdoor festival features an all-day celebration of all things southern, seafood, savory and sweet. Eighteen Pensacola Beach restaurants, located in cabanas surrounding the Gulfside Pavilion and overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, will begin serving their signature dishes for $8 each. The menu changes every year, but there will be plenty of seafood, ground food, beer, wine and frozen concoctions. Learn more: TasteofPensacolaBeach.com.

10th Annual Arrogant Steak Cookoff

When: Friday at 6 p.m. Where: Barri de Sevilla, 130 E. Carrer del Govern.

The Arrogant Steak Cookoff features 20 four-person cooking teams competing to award and brag about the best New York Strip Steaks provided by Winn-Dixie. Ticket holders will sample the teams’ offerings and vote for their favorite with a ticket or cash. There will also be a panel of judges who will award the best prizes to their favorite steaks. Tickets are $50. The event is limited to those over 21 years of age. More information: sevillerotary.com.

Rocky Horror Picture Show Double Feature

You can catch a Rocky Horror Picture Show Friday at the Sanders Beach-Corrine Jones Resource Center. The 1975 cult classic is an homage to the B-level sci-fi movies of the 1940s and 1950s. Starring the eclectic Tim Curry as Dr. Frank N. Furter and Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick as their respective heroes , the musical takes you on a weird and wonderful journey that fans have turned into an interactive experience over the decades. Costumes and props are encouraged, but below is a list of props to leave at home:

When: Saturday and Sunday, from October 15 to 30, at 10 am. Where: Gulf Breeze Zoo, 5701 Gulf Breeze Parkway.

WSRE PBS Wine & Food Classic

When: Saturday at 6 p.m. Where: SCI Building, 220 W. Garden St.

The Wine & Food Classic returns with a walking tasting. This year’s event will celebrate Hispanic heritage with Latin American and Caribbean-influenced cuisine from local chefs, live music performed by Nobius and special guest Alejandra Ramos, host of “The Great American Recipe” on PBS. The new PBS series showcases the multiculturalism that makes American food unique and iconic. $50 More information: wsre.org/wfc.
