Fall outdoor activities are in full swing, and a Detroit greenway will host a harvest festival with added attractions like buskers and tarot card readers this weekend. There is also an antiques and collectibles show and a ship celebration.
Here’s a list of things to do the weekend of September 30th.
Detroit Harvest Fest and Food Truck Rally
Hosted by the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy on the Dequindre Cut Greenway, this event is expected to host more than 50 food trucks, six music stages and children’s activities, including free inflatables, 12 trick-or-treating stations, pumpkins and more .
For adults, there’s Cirque De Freight Yard at the Dequindre Cut Freight Yard, featuring buskers, tarot card readers, cocktails and live music.
The event will take place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dequindre Cut, from Woodbridge to Wilkins in Detroit. Admission is $5 for ages 3-64 and free for children under 3, active or retired service members and seniors.
Downtown Trenton Bep, shop and stroll
This event presented by The Vintage Market Mercantile, Truago and Roundhouse BBQ will include shopping, a beer tent, live music, food trucks, carnival food, face painting, bounce houses, karaoke and more.
Truago, a Trenton restaurant, will host a special Lobstoberfest Tent Party Preview from 4-11pm Friday with a buffet, full bar and live entertainment.
Lobstoberfest will take place Saturday from noon to 11pm along W. Jefferson Avenue, which will be closed to vehicular traffic, in Trenton. Vendors will be open until 7:00 p.m., but the bands, food, and beer tent won’t close until 11:00 p.m.
Great Fall Festival at Maybury Farm
This 9th annual event will feature fall themed games, pumpkin decorating, beeswax candle making, face painting, farm animals, wagon rides, food trucks, BBQ and more.
Bridge County Bluegrass Band will perform Saturday and Keynote Sisters will perform Sunday from noon to 3 pm each day.
Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Maybury Farm, 50165 Eight Mile in Northville. Admission is $10 per person for the festival; $16 per person will include the 10-acre corn maze with wagon ride. Children under two are free.
58th Annual Bloomfield Antiques & Collectibles Charity Show
More than 30 dealers will be selling a variety of collectibles from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Items will include antique and estate jewelry, china, glassware, linens, pottery, New England and English furniture, vintage clothing, hats and bags, antique Japanese and Chinese art, porcelain, silver, quilts, cut glass, paintings, glass art, ceramics , glass statues, brass, copper, jade, bronzes, figurines, books and more.
Evaluations will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. by DuMouchelles and the cost is $10 per item with a limit of three items per person. Proceeds will benefit St. Paul’s Community Lutheran Church.
Homemade cakes and other food will be on sale and proceeds from the Country Café and Country Store will be donated to charity.
Show hours are Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 1100 Lone Pine Road in Bloomfield Hills. Admission is $12.
Boathouse Beer, Wine & Cocktail Fest
This fundraiser to restore the century-old Boathouse on Belle Isle will feature more than 150 beers, spirits and cocktails to sample, live entertainment by Mark Reitenga & Friends Cover Band, food trucks and more.
The festival will be held in a tented pavilion on the lawn overlooking the band, the Detroit River and the Belle Isle Bridge, as the Boathouse is closed to visitors for an architectural assessment.
This 21 and over event will be open Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. VIP Express Entry and Tasting will begin at 1:00 PM Belle Isle Park, E. Picnic Way in Detroit. Buy tickets at boathousebeerfest.
