5 things to do this week: Ski show, music and family events – Albert Lea Tribune

Ski jump and turn competition

The public is invited to watch the Midwest Regional Ski Championships and cheer on Bayside’s local water ski team. The competition starts on Friday and ends on Sunday. Friday is the individual competition, which starts at 1:00 p.m. and will feature 60 individuals who will show off their spins, rope doubles, free jumps and team jumps. Saturday and Sunday is the team competition, which starts at 8am, Albert Leas Bayside Skiers will be in action on Saturday at 9am at Edgewater Park.

Spectators are encouraged to park in the areas near the shell and east pavilion. The Edgewater Bay Pavilion lot will be reserved for participants. There will be no parking in the event area.

The event is scheduled to bring together hundreds of people in the city.

Thursday at the Source

Brett Feist will be performing from 5:30-7pm on Thursdays in Fountain at the Fountain Lake Gazebo for this week’s free concert.

The health of Freeborn County

Sue Yost, Freeborn County Director of Public Health, will speak Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Albert Lea Art Center about the county’s response to COVID-19. He will also talk about where the county is today and what has been learned, as well as the impact of the infant formula shortage.

Party in the Park

Hope Church will host Party in the Park from 4-7pm on Saturday at Memorial Park. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, they are excited to host it again. There will be games, food, prizes and bounce houses. Get together with your community and spend a night at Memorial Park.

Super kids in the park

The Assembly of God Church will host Super Kids in the Park at 2pm Saturday at Eberhardt Park, 1502 Eberhardt St. Join in for puppetry, stories, crafts, balloons, snacks and more.

Open to children of all ages from 1 to 100 years.
