DETROIT (WXYZ) – If you’re looking for something to do this weekend in metro Detroit, there’s plenty to do from festivals to WWE SmackDown at Little Caesars Arena.
We’ve compiled a list of seven things to do in D this weekend:
Charm: The Sing-Along Film Concert Tour
Saturday at 19:30. Pine Knob Musical Theater at 33 Bob Seger Drive in Clarkston. Children and their families will be able to see the movie “Encanto” come to life on stage live. The film will be played during the concert while a band performs.
Saturday 11 am to 7 pm and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm Green Acres Park at 620 W. Woodward Heights Boulevard in Hazel Park Arts and crafts will be on display in Hazel Park as artists and vendors display their work . Local musicians will be heard and aerial performances will be seen. All proceeds from the event will be reinvested in the community through scholarships, artist panel discussions, mural projects, public art installations and the Hazel Park Art Fair Mentoring Program.
Sunday at noon at 9:00 p.m. Black Bottom Park at 905 E. Milwaukee Avenue in Detroit The 10th annual Detroit Hug Day will bring the community together for a block party as families send their children to school. The event begins with a dance party. Backpacks and school supplies will be delivered and a food drive will be held. Organizers are accepting donations.
Friday 4-8pm, Saturday 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-5pm Canterbury Village at 2369 Joslyn Court in Lake OrionMichigan including crafts, food and beer will be at center during the three-day festival. There will be live music, magicians, a monster truck show, bounce houses and more for the whole family to enjoy.
Friday from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. Twelve Mile Crossing at 44425 W. Twelve Mile Road in NoviA variety of taco trucks will provide flavor during the three-day festival. From mild to spicy, guests can enjoy food, live music, wrestling, Mexican dancing and salsa. If you’re up for the challenge, you can also sign up for a hot pepper eating contest.
Saturday 2-11pm Senate Theater at 6424 Michigan Avenue in Detroit Music and art will take over the Senate Theater for this family-friendly festival. Forty artists and over 100 vendors will be on site offering resources, performing arts, visual arts and food.
Friday at 6:30pm at the Little Caesars Arena at 2645 Woodward Avenue in DetroitWWE SmackDown returns to Detroit for the first time in two years. The superstar action will feature Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, Ronda Rousey and The Usos tag team.
