The towns of St. Matthews and Bowman kick off festivals today that were postponed two weeks ago due to weather.
Bowman’s Harvest Festival will be a one-day event that will bring people together as a city.
The festival is about “coming together as a community, enjoying each other, having fun and just remembering who we are and that we are a city: people who care and support each other,” Bowman’s mayor said , Patsy Rhett.
The harvest festival will begin with a parade at 10 a.m. at the town hall and wind its way down Main Street in Bowman. The Harvest Festival will end on Saturday at 10pm.

Throughout the day, there will be various games, a basketball competition, a barbecue and vendors.
The same day, St. Matthews will hold its inaugural “Community Celebration.”
