WELCOME AGAIN! The City of Little Falls invites you to attend the Canal Celebration. The festival is in its 35th year and celebrates our community, our heritage and the spirit that makes Little Falls a unique place in the Mohawk Valley.
There have been dedicated volunteers over the years who have helped make Canal Celebration a success. One such community member is Roger Stock, who will always be remembered by our community for his hard work in many things, including coordinating the annual car show, which returns this year to Burke (Western) Park. Roger’s wife Pat was always by his side, including planning this festival. Roger’s legacy lives on through his family. This year, Canal Celebration honors the Stock family by naming Pat Stock as the 2022 Grand Marshall.

Wednesday August 10:
Thunder on the River at Rotary Park (Marina) features live music from Holiday City, food trucks, Rotary’s Duck Dash fundraiser, bounce houses, a huge fireworks display and more.
Thursday August 11:
“Big Kids” Adult Fishing Derby and Mike’s Cruise Inn Car Show at Rotary Park (Marina) and a DJ at the American Legion.
Friday August 12:
The Grande Parade is back – Welcome back!! After the parade, Kids on Main will take place on the Ed’s Pizza block with a 3-on-3 youth basketball tournament, kids’ games, a DJ and food. Ward Square (Eastern Park) will feature an outdoor movie evening for the family, while the Elks host live music and their annual party. Rock Valley Brewing Co. features live music and the Little Falls Polish Club will have a food truck.
Saturday, August 13:
The day kicks off with the 41st Annual Little Falls Lumber Freedom Run 10K and 2 Mile Run in conjunction with Sheriff Farber’s Kids Run. Canal Place will be alive with Chicks Along the Canal in Sterzinar Park, LiFT Theater Co. performing Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labour’s Lost” at Bentons Landing, There will be an Eastern Park Expo in Ward Square with food trucks, a water slide and a tailgating tank. for a charity exhibition, non-profit and more! Vet’s Park hosts Vintage Baseball, the annual Dr. Tony Piana Rotary Club returns to Mohawk Valley Golf & Event Center, a tractor pull with East Herkimer Sno-Riders on Shells Bush Rd and the 32nd John Serow Memorial Youth Fishing Derby on Lock 17 under the wind bridge. A Feldmeier Family Kayak Challenge takes place at Rotary Park (marina), Little Falls Farmers Market in the M&T parking lot, and the Elks host live music and their annual party. Rock Valley Brewing Co. features live music and the Little Falls Polish Club will have a food truck.
Sunday August 14:
LiFT Theater Co. performs a second performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’ at Bentons Landing. Burke (Western) Park presents the 35th annual Little Falls Canal Celebration Car Show, while the Elks host their famous chicken barbecue. During the car show, you’ll find Little Falls Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts in action. There will also be live music at the American Legion Post 31

Throughout the week, the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts will present an exhibit and the Little Falls Public Library will hold its annual book sale event. Bart Carrig will display outdoor photographs in the office, while the Little Falls Historical Society will allow tours by appointment only and assist with self-guided tours of various historic sites. Herkimer Home will also be open for tours of its state historic site. There will also be numerous class reunions!
