Fire truck story time, 10-10:45 a.m., Cloquet Public Library. Join Ms. Jamie and Firefighter Justin from the Cloquet Area Fire District for this special story time. Children will enjoy stories and songs, as well as learn what firefighters do to protect the community. There will also be a fire truck in the library, so attendees can get up close and personal with the truck and its equipment. The activity is aimed at boys and girls from 0 to 5 years old and families.
School Supply Raffle, 1-4 pm, Veterans Memorial Park, Cloquet. K & W Enterprise in Cloquet is holding a raffle of school supplies for children in need. Families are asked to attend to bring their children’s school supplies list and the company will provide them with the necessary supplies. The company will also sell tickets for one family to win a series of school clothes purchases. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to a local school district to go toward lunch balances. The event will also feature a free lunch with hot dogs, fries and drinks.

Cloquet Labor Day Celebration, 11:00 a.m. The event begins with the parade down Cloquet Avenue at 11:00 a.m., followed by food, bounce houses and games at Veteran’s Memorial Park until 4:00 p.m. .
Cromwell’s Harvest Festival. The Scarecrow judging starts at 6pm. Cash prizes will be awarded. Child and adult categories available. Contact Lynn at 218-644-3544 for a spot. Settle in anytime through Labor Day weekend and stay up to date through September 11th. The first clue for the medallion hunt will be given at 6 pm. All tracks will be posted on the Cromwell Area Community Club website and Facebook page. Starting Tuesday, clues will be given daily at noon until the medallion is found.

Cromwell’s Harvest Festival. Steak will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. with a steak dinner or hot dog platter. Cash Bingo will begin at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a blanket raffle with tickets available during the fry up and bingo. The draw will take place at the end of the bingo.
Harvest Festival Craft and food vendors will be on hand from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. At 9:15 a.m., there will be a patriotic salute, followed by a children’s parade at 9:30 a.m. with prizes for each participant. At 10am, children’s games and a scavenger hunt will begin. At 10am a youth beanbag tournament will begin with registration at 9:30am. The teams will be in groups of 7 to 12 years and 13 to 18 years. Prizes will be awarded to the best team teams as well as tournament winners. Clowns, face painting and balloons will start at 11:00. The Slice of Pie and Ice Cream Social will run from noon to 2pm with pie and ice cream for a free donation. Whole pies will be available at 1:45 p.m. Live music will be from 1pm to 4pm with Ike and Taylor. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. At 2:00 p.m., a bean bag tournament for adults begins, with registration at 1:00 p.m. The cost to participate is $20 per team. Cash prizes will be awarded. The Riverhill Rangers will be performing from 8pm to midnight during the pavilion dance. The cost to attend is $10 per person. The Cromwell Muni will offer a cash bar. No outside drinks are allowed.
Community event, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mahtowa. Mahtowa Covenant Church and TJ’s Country Store are sponsoring a day of free community fun, including a picnic, yard games, activities and live music. The Stan Berglund Memorial Bike Ride will begin at 10 a.m. at TJ’s Country Store, followed by a free picnic from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at TJ’s Pavilion. The picnic will include roasted corn on the cob. Yard games, a bouncy house and live music will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees can enter raffles, with prizes including a TJ’s meat pack and gift cards. People are invited to come and bring their neighbors!
At Nesting Place, the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 1 to 2 p.m. Community Memorial Hospital/Raiter Family Clinic hosts a free group for new moms, no matter where they had their baby. The group meets virtually and provides a safe place to discuss all postpartum issues. It is facilitated by Dra. Natalie Krier.
