The 31st annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival will be held September 9-11 at its new location, The Carrie Blast Furnaces National Historic Landmark.
Founded in 1991, Pittsburgh Irish Festival in Pennsylvania has become one of the best Irish American festivals in the country. With neighborhoods like Lawrenceville, Carrick, Castle Shannon and O’Hara, it’s no surprise that the Irish are the second largest ancestry group in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
Enjoy dancing, music and entertainment
This year’s Celtic celebrations featuring new bands, phenomenal solo performers, familiar favorites and local Irish dance groups. The Festival will welcome Gaelic Storm, The Screaming Orphans, RUNA, The Friel Sister, The Bow Tides, Donnie Irish and many more, who will headline acts on different nights and stages. Musicians can also join the Session Tent and play their favorite Irish tunes all weekend long!
Also returning for a second time after being a smash hit at last year’s Festival is The Real Irish Comedy Tour.

Feast on Irish cuisine and Celtic drinks
Enjoy the delicious sights, aromas and tastes that come from Irish kitchens! From a bite to a full meal, the Festival serves up Irish Stew, Box Pancakes, Shepherd’s Pie, Potato Soup, Cabbage Cannon, Ham and Cabbage and more. Desserts are hearty and delicious, and while you’re there, enjoy a range of Celtic drinks at Tara Tea and numerous pubs.
Also, new this year at the Festival is Five Farms Irish Celtic Kitchen, where you can watch cooking demonstrations by professional and amateur bakers and chefs.

Follow this fugitive Irish ancestor by visiting the Genealogy Pavilion and learn how to search locally and online for lost family in the United States and Ireland. There are forms and reference books on the site to guide you as you begin or restart the process of climbing your family tree.
Irish Authors’ Corner
Learn about Ireland and its tradition as you meet the visiting authors at this year’s party Irish festival. Buy a book, get it autographed and hear stories from the authors over the weekend at Hedge School.
The landing of the goblin
For the little people! Take home a handmade souvenir, enjoy an Irish story, sing a lullaby and even dance an Irish jig. Play a round of miniature golf on the Royal County Down course, bounce around ‘Nessie’ bounce houses, the Loch Ness monster and the Irish castle.
