While the air outside can still be a bit warm and muggy in Indiana, the shades of fall will soon arrive with fall foliage, pumpkin spice, and costumed kids roaming the area looking for candy.
During the months of September and October, the area will host a series of festivals in all corners of Morgan County, from Eminence to Paragon and Morgantown to Waverly.
Paragon Homecoming Festival
The Paragon Homecoming Festival returns Labor Day weekend September 2-4.
Month:The Morgan County Plan Commission approves Harrison Township’s rezoning request.
The festival will include a parade through the streets of Paragon, live entertainment and games for all ages.
This year’s parade will start at 6 pm on Sunday, September 4.
Monrovia Festival
This year’s Monrovia Festival will take place on the weekend of September 9-11.
The event will include live music, craft booths, a car show and bounce houses.
The parade will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 11.
Colonel Vawter Day
The City of Morgantown will celebrate Colonel Vawter Day on Saturday, September 10th.
Colonel Vawter Day celebrates John Vawter, who helped establish the town in southeastern Morgan County.
Finish Line I-69: Morgan Street Extension is scheduled to open this week.
This year’s celebration includes several events, including craft vendors.
Eminence Harvest Festival
Eminence will be hosting their Harvest Festival on Saturday 17th September.
Events at this year’s celebration include a 5km run/walk/bike, car and tractor show, crowning of princes and princesses, parade and magician. Vendors will also be available.
Most events take place on Eminence Community Schools property and the parade starts at the A&A Fire Barn.
Martinsville Bicentennial Celebration
The city of Martinsville will celebrate its 200th anniversary on Saturday, September 17th downtown.
The celebration will include live performances and fireworks.

Performers include Rose O’Neal, The Woomblies Rock Orchestra, Creedence Revived (a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute band), Barracuda (a Heart tribute band) and Clayton Anderson.
The fireworks will go off at 9pm that evening.
Old Town Waverly Festival
Old Town Waverly Park, 8425 Main St., Waverly, will once again host its annual festival on Sept. 24 and 25.
Events include live blacksmith demonstrations, pioneering crafts and live music.
Apple Festival and Craft Fair/Children’s Party
Anderson Orchard, 369 E. Greencastle Rd., Mooresville, will host its Apple Festival on Sept. 25-25.
The festival includes craft booths, pumpkin patch and the chance to pick your own apples and/or raspberries.
The orchard will host its Children’s Party the following weekend on October 1 and 2 with bounce houses, games and animals.
Martinsville Fall Foliage Festival
The Fall Foliage Festival will return to the Morgan County Courthouse Square in downtown Martinsville this year starting on October 6th and concluding on October 9th.
The first night will include a Bargain Night where all rides will only require one ticket per person.

Other events this year will be the car show at John R. Wooden Middle School, live shows on the open stage and the parade.
This year’s parade will begin at 1:00 p.m. on October 9.
Waverly’s Haunting
Old Town Waverly Park will be the site of another festival this year as it hosts the Haunting of Waverly on Saturday, October 29th.
This year’s event will include a trunk or treat, hay rides and food for the whole family.
