Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch returns after week-long rain postponement – Daily Democrat

Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch, located at 23300 County Rd 99D in Woodland, opened Friday and welcomed families to enjoy the farm’s iconic annual children’s activities, including the cow train, wheat dip de moro, the zoo and labyrinths.

Ashley Bush, manager of the pumpkin patch, said she was excited to reopen the pumpkin patch after having to postpone the opening for a week due to the storms.

“We had about three inches of rain here and that was enough to keep us from carrying our gear,” Bush noted.

He noted that the farm wasn’t able to get a tractor to work on the pumpkin preparation until Saturday after the storms passed.

“We had to disk and scrape our way through the pumpkins and the cow train path, so it took a week of tractor work just to get the ground ready for people to come in here,” Bush added.

However, now that the pumpkin patch is open, he’s looking forward to seeing families back on the farm having fun.

“It’s absolutely amazing, especially after a couple of years with COVID and people not being able to go out and have all these experiences outside … making these memories, especially the little guys,” he said.

For Abeer Alsharif, the reopening of the pumpkin patch couldn’t come soon enough. Her 3-year-old son, Tameem Fararjeh, has been asking about the pumpkin patch since it closed last year.

“We came here last year and I really didn’t expect it to be so attached to the place,” Alsharif explained. “You get to know the place just by driving down the highway.”

Alsharif took his children to the pumpkin patch last week when it was supposed to open because he didn’t realize the opening had been postponed.

“It took half an hour to calm down and realize that it was closed,” he said. “But today, the whole time here, the emotion in his voice and in his body language is incredible … so we’ve been waiting for this all year.”

Bobby Dazzler’s Pumpkin Patch has been locally owned and operated for 40 years and grows most of its pumpkins, some are hand picked and flown in from other local fields.

The pumpkin patch rates its pumpkins by size and variety instead of weight and offers free parking, free admission, free use of wagons and a free play area to give families an inexpensive activity to do with their children.

“We want to keep the prices so that families can come out and enjoy themselves and not be afraid to spend too much,” said Bobby Dazzler staff member Kerie Holck.

This year, along with the regular attractions, the farm is adding four bounce houses, available Saturday and Sunday only, for kids to enjoy for a $7 admission fee, according to Holck. However, parents will need to sign a waiver form for their children to enter.
