On August 20th, Community Renewal Society is proud to be a sponsor of the first Black Wall Street Back to School Raffle for Blaqout & Relaxation and Worlds Perfectionist. The event will be held at 2045-2055 W. 79th Street on Saturday, August 20th and will run from 2:00pm Central Time, while supplies last.
Youngsters are invited to come out for free school supplies, free haircuts and styles, light refreshments and enjoy a day of fun including games and bounce houses.
Community Renewal Society will donate backpacks and school supplies.
Blaqout & Relaxation located at 2045 w 79th Street is a place where you can go and relax your mind. “I am someone who is dedicated to giving back to the community, especially our youth,” said Blaqout & Relaxation owner Sapphire Morales.
Worlds Perfectionist was established by Markita Young and Yusef Bowen with the goal of bringing convenience to the neighborhood during the pandemic and after the looting and riots where many local businesses did not reopen. Using resources from their other businesses, Worlds Perfectionist Cleaning and Worlds Perfectionist Mobile Car Wash, they were able to provide the community with a store where they could shop for convenience items, clothing, shoes and hair accessories. “Meeting the people we serve in the community is the most amazing part of opening every day. Being so engaged and being able to give back is such a blessing and a heartwarming feeling. It’s great to pour yourself into others. We are so happy to serve this community with love,” said the owners of Worlds Perfectionist.
Hairstyles will be provided by Deja Dior by Dior Beauty, located on Chicago’s South Side at 2051 W 79th Street.
Food will be provided by No Sauce AZ Smokehouse, located at 2055 w 79th Street, near the Auburn Gresham and Englewood neighborhoods. They chose this area because they had a vision to bring Texas-style barbecue to one of Chicago’s wealthiest and most historic neighborhoods. No Sauce specializes in smoked meats, rib tips, ribs, links and all the fixings!
