Independence Day is fast approaching and Denver always knows how to celebrate. While the past couple of years have been on a small scale (if at all), this year, nearly all of the best Fourth of July events in and around the metro area are back and better than ever. From citywide parties to parades to fireworks (or even laser light) shows, find your favorite or closest 4th of July event and start celebrating.

A Denver 4th of July classic, the Rockies’ annual Independence Day fireworks show is a celebratory precursor. After all, what better way to salute America than with its favorite game? That, plus cold beer, a franchise and an always awesome fireworks display make for a holiday weekend.

City of Westminster, Colorado – Govt
4th of July
Westminster City Park
Free to the public and one of the best firework displays in the north metro area, Westminster’s 4th of July celebration is once again ready to knock your socks off. In addition to fireworks, visitors and families can enjoy inflatables and bounce houses, a magic show and live music.

Salisbury Park
Parker will be going all out this 4th of July with live music and entertainers, plus a carnival complete with face painting, bungee jumping and tons of food vendors. But instead of traditional fireworks, expect an epic light show courtesy of 150 drones flying through the air, up to 400 feet and visible from up to two miles away.

Louisville
Did someone say free hot dogs and sausages? Get yours while supplies last at Louisville’s 4th of July celebration, which will also feature bounce houses, face painting and local tunes from the Boulder Concert Band. And of course, fireworks after sunset.

Belleview Park and Cornerstone Park
Englewood’s annual Fourth of July celebration, which welcomes and encourages residents of Englewood, Littleton, Sheridan and Arapahoe County to attend, returns this year with a myriad of activities for all ages Expect DJs, face painting, bubble towers, lawn games and food trucks, plus open batting cages and art balloons, then head to your nearest fireworks display to finish off the night.

Highland Heritage Regional Park
While the fireworks show is the obvious draw here, they will be accompanied by a selection of food trucks. Or, bring your own food and settle in with your blankets, pillows, and anything else you need to get comfortable while you watch the fireworks light up the sky.

Infinite Park
In addition to featuring a fireworks show at a new location, Glendale’s Fourth of July festivities will include food trucks, though BYOB (and food) is welcome. Bring a blanket or chairs and arrive early, get cozy and wait for sparks to fly as area streets and the park close at 7:30, but the show doesn’t start until 9:30.

Park Hill
Another classic 4th of July event, the Park Hill Parade is fun for the whole family and leaves room for your choice of fireworks later in the day. Spend the afternoon watching floats, marching bands and entertainers in this historic Denver neighborhood.

Aurora Municipal Center
This 4th of July celebration is perfect for local music fans, as it will feature several live acts throughout the night, leading up to a grand fireworks display starting at 9:30 p.m. The Great Lawn of the Municipal Center will be your best bet for a good view.

Larimer Square
Of course, one of Denver’s most popular summer hangouts is having the annual 4th of July party. Come for the live music and the scavenger hunt, stay for the various artistic offerings, from live chalk art exhibits to face painting to caricature drawings and more.

Fort Collins
Join the fun in Fort Collins on Saturday, July 2, from sunrise to sunset, starting with a 5K golf tournament and ending with a fireworks display. In between, enjoy a parade, float rides, live music and a food truck rally to satisfy all your senses as you celebrate America’s birthday.
Cost: Free, although special municipal park pool hours require a $3 admission fee
July 3
Civic centre
Civic Center Park will feature a variety of local musical acts, including the Colorado Symphony, this July 4th, as well as more than a dozen food trucks and a fireworks display starting at 9 p.m.: 30 h. Bring your appetite for great food, fun and tunes and celebrate America the right way.

Washington Virginia Vale
A host of activities await at Four Mile Historic Park this year, including live performances, local artisans, historical re-enactments, prairie games and all the traditional, timeless park fun. Choose 12 acres to sit for a picnic or smile for a Fourth of July photo in the photo booth and enjoy all the different ways to cheer for Independence Day.

RiNo
Looking for the best fireworks spot and special in town this quarter? The Red Barber offers its rooftop for front-row seats to all of Denver’s fireworks shows that you can see all the way to the horizon. While you watch, grab complimentary bar bites and sip cocktails, wine and beer as music soundtracks the night away.
