St. PATRICK’S FESTIVAL: Hubbard’s St. Patrick’s Church’s 64th annual festival will be Thursday through Aug. 7 on the church grounds, 225 N. Main St., Hubbard. Entry is free. The festival will include parish-made food, games, rides, a basket raffle and live entertainment each night. Festival hours are from 6 to 11 p.m., Thursday and Friday, from 5 to 11:30 p.m., Saturday and from 1 to 11 p.m., August 7. Sunday matinee is 1-4pm with wristband for all rides for $15. The festival’s grand prize is a Chevrolet Trailblazer or $20,000.
NATIONAL NIGHTS: The Vienna Township Neighborhood Watch will host National Night Out Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Vienna Fire Station. Free hot dogs and ice cream will be served. The police and fire brigade will attend with displays.
National Night Out takes place across the country on the first Tuesday in August and brings local, provincial, state and national law enforcement forces together with their communities in a fun and safe environment.
Liberty is also hosting a national evening event at 7pm on Tuesday, starting with a parade from Shady Road to the football stadium. The activities will continue at 19.30 h. There will be police dog demonstrations, drone demonstrations, emergency vehicle displays, a bookmobile, music, refreshments, a car show, bounce houses and fireworks at dark (weather permitting).
BACK TO SCHOOL: East Side Church of Christ, Niles Road, SE, Warren, will host a back to school and grocery raffle Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. School supplies and groceries will be delivered on a first-come, first-serve basis. The event will feature fire, police and emergency medical service vehicles. There will also be games and food.
OPEN PANTRY: Churchill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill Hubbard Road, Liberty, will host a Friday noon food pantry distribution for Liberty residents and Liberty Local School District students and families. For questions, call 330-759-0118,
LESSONS FROM THE HOLOCAUST: The Jewish Federation of Youngstown offers a free program “What you do is important. Lessons from the Holocaust” Monday 5-8pm at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. The free program is intended for legal and law enforcement professionals, but the public is welcome. To register visit www.jewishyoungstown.org.
RECYCLING CENTER: The Howland Recycling Center, 3590 North River Road NE, will reopen Monday. Drop off containers will be available from 7.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Friday. The following items will be removed from the site; bottles, jugs, jars, cans and cardboard/paper.
BACKPACK GIVEAWAY: The Warren Family Mission is gearing up for its annual school supply raffle from 1-3pm on Friday. Donations of backpacks and school supplies are needed and can be made in person at the Tod Avenue Mission or a monetary donation on the mission website. The mission plans to give full backpacks to around 400 children.
NILES RELAY EVENT: The Niles Relay For Life will host a meet and greet from noon to 4:00 pm on September 17 at the Niles First United Methodist Church. The public is welcome to come meet the Niles Relay For Life Committee. If you are interested in volunteering, owning a team or just want to be part of the relay, stop by the event.
