The hard work of the Homeworth Community Group will culminate July 23 at the 2022 Knox Township Festival at the North Georgetown Community Pavilion.
The event, at the North Georgetown Fire Department, will run from noon to 10 p.m.
Events begin with the George D. Worth Color Guard of North Georgetown Post 574 and the raising of the flag as the national anthem is sung along with an opening prayer.
Bluegrass background music will play throughout the day courtesy of Kerry and Todd Varble.
Events will continue with the traditional car show from noon to 3 p.m., and the Garden Tractor Pull from 1 to 3 p.m.
New this year will be the baby contest, at 3 p.m. in front of the Mac Trailer Stage. Registrants must check in by 2:15 p.m. The deadline to participate is Wednesday at Knox Township Festival event page on Facebook. The age groups are 6-12 months, 12-18 months and 18-24 months. Children’s wristbands can be purchased for $5 at the Homeworth Community Group ticket table and can be used for unlimited visits to bounce houses, miniature golf hole, along with the train ride and the Kiddie Tractor Pull .
The highlight of the event is the mechanical bull duels, which cost $5 per ride and will challenge riders from 5 to 9 pm.
There will be hot air balloon rides, weather permitting, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for $10 per ride.
The storage tank will be available all day. There will also be a raffle of weapons and cash. A thousand tickets will be sold at the box office.
Burning Blue Band will perform from 5 to 7 p.m. The festival will end with the Southern Roots Tribute Band, on stage from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Attendees must bring lawn chairs.
