Over 40 balloons, live bands, games, family activities highlight this weekend event
September 9-11, Conner Prairie’s Jupiter Flights Balloon Festival the weekend will once again fill the central Indiana skies with colorful balloons originating from across the United States. Indiana’s largest balloon festival will feature 42 balloons competing in balloon races and “glows” throughout the weekend.
The festival also offers a variety of family-friendly entertainment: live bands, flight simulators, remote control planes, bubble workshops, live bird shows and more. Appetizers and special drinks will also be available for purchase.

Live image in the morning before the event of one or more hot air balloons on Tuesday 6th September (weather dependent) with reserve days on 7th or 8th September. 7:30 p.m., Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10: Balloon Glow: 15 new hot air balloons light up the grounds of Conner Prairie each night. 7 a.m. Saturday, September 10 and Sunday, September 11: Balloon pilots compete against each other in a fun race called “fly the task.” 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, September 10: Hundreds of families will fill the grounds of Conner Prairie learning and experiencing the freedom of flight, with numerous family activities.

The morning balloon contest is free. Saturday activities at Conner Prairie from 10 am to 5 pm are included with general admission to Conner Prairie. Festival tickets for the afternoon activities are now on sale at connerprairie.org/Jupiter-flights-balloon-festival.
Highlights of the weekend
Friday, September 9
6:00 PM to 9:00 PM: Watch exciting fly-to-the-finish hot air balloon competitions and enjoy live music by Stella Luna and the Satellites (6:15 & 7:15 PM), bounce houses, corn maze, concessions and more. At 7:30 p.m., the Night Balloon Glow features more than 15 balloons lighting up the grounds of Conner Prairie.
Saturday, September 10
7-9am (free event): Cheer on your favorite balloon as they fill the sky for an exciting “fly to task” competition where pilots strive to land on a target. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Enjoy a variety of fun and educational family activities as all Conner Prairie experiences feature a “flight theme,” including live performances, a bird show; a LIFT academy flight simulator; remote control airplane club; flight outreach programs at Spark!Lab and Discovery Station; learn about the science of hunting flight; explore seeds in flight; and participate in a bubble workshop. 6:00pm to 9:00pm: Watch exciting fly-to-the-finish hot air balloon competitions and enjoy live music from the Toy Factory (6:15pm to 7:15pm), bounce houses, wheat maze moro, concessions and much more. At 7:30 p.m., the Night Balloon Glow features 15 new balloons that illuminate the grounds of Conner Prairie.
Sunday, September 11
7-9am (free event): Cheer on your favorite balloon as it fills the sky for the ultimate “fly to task” competition where pilots strive to land on a target and be awarded the Grand Champion .
