Crab Slam at Shanty in Cape Charles
GET READY!!!! The 2nd Annual Crab Slam at the Shanty is this SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!!!! August 6 and 7!
Doors open at 11.30am on Saturday and Shoal Shakers will be performing live from 12pm to 4pm. Local vendors all day. The Smith Island Skiff Races will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Oyster Eating Contest 4-5 p.m., $20 per team. Boat docking practices take place from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. A captains/sponsors party will be held from 8pm to 11pm with DJ Leland, open to the public.
Local vendors all day
Doors open at 11am on Sunday with DJ Leland playing from 11am to 1pm. The MAIN EVENT, the boat docking, will take place from 1pm to 4pm. Tickets are $10 at the door on Sunday. There will be no presale this year. There will be an Oyster Eating Contest, open to the public, with two-person teams.

22nd Annual Blessing of the Combines

It’s the 22nd annual Blessing of the Combinations this Saturday, August 6th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in Snow Hill, Maryland. There will be food vendors and merchandise vendors. For the children there will be hay rides and bounce houses. Next to the river you will find a classic car showroom. Join us in celebrating our agricultural heritage.

On Saturday, August 6, starting at 11:00 a.m., Shorter’s Chapel AME Church in Bridgetown, will have a dinner sale. Menu: Fish, Pork Legs, Baked or Fried Chicken. Macaroni and cheese or potato salad Rolls and coleslaw or green bean coke Pig’s feet and fish dinners will cost $15.00. Baked or fried chicken dinners will cost $12.00. Cape Charles Concert in the Park

Summer 2022 in Cape Charles will once again be alive with the sound of music with free concerts in Cape Charles’ beautiful Central Park, presented by Citizens For Central Park and the City of Cape Charles!
The Harbor For The Arts Summer Festival is the largest summertime concert series on Virginia’s Eastern Shore and showcases a wide variety of musical artists with something for everyone.
Now in its ninth year, the weekly concerts attract thousands of local residents and visitors and provide an opportunity to enjoy free family entertainment and socialize with friends and neighbors, old and new.
This year’s concert schedule begins Saturday, June 25 with the 40-member United States Air Force Concert Band and continues every Saturday through September 10. All shows are free and take place from 7pm to 9pm.
Food vendors will be on site for the concerts. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy!
This week’s talent will be The Jangling Reinharts.
