Petersburg plans to host another party this Labor Day weekend.
The Back Field Country Bash is back for the second year in a row.
It’s Randy Nefzger, who says the Petersburg Commercial Club held the event last year to celebrate the community’s 150th anniversary, with a concert on the Diamond Ball featuring Confederate Railroad.
This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, September 3rd, with music by Ashton Shepherd, a country artist who has had some hit songs on the radio.
And Beau Timmerman will kick off the event with live music from 4pm. Along with the concert and fireworks, there will be bounce houses, a children’s pedal toss, drink and food booths featuring Delaware County ranchers, hog producers and the Dairy Council, along with the Petersburg Achievers 4-H Club.
The event takes place from 4 to 11 pm on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. And this year you don’t need to buy your tickets in advance. You can only get them at the door for $25, with children 10 and under.
