Mineral County (54) is the scenic gateway to Western Montana. We have a wealth of exciting recreational opportunities, including secluded lakes, rivers and streams for floating, fishing and swimming; magnificent forests for camping; steep mountains for hiking; mountain trails for horse riding, cycling or quad biking; shooting and hunting game; and unparalleled views for sightseeing.
We also have the Mineral County Fair in Superior from August 4-6.
Every year thousands of locals and people from all over the United States attend our small town country fair. Some are former residents catching up with family and old friends. Others are travelers exploring Big Sky Country.
Even so, some had no prior personal connection to our county, but once they’ve been here, they choose to come back every year just because it’s so much fun! Regardless of the reason for their visit, our fairgoers are always greeted with a friendly smile and free entry to the fairgrounds.
This year’s Mineral County Fair features all of our most popular attractions. We start each day with a delicious pancake breakfast followed by open class and 4-H projects, children’s water slides, bounce houses, an obstacle course and games. Every afternoon, we have live music and bingo.
The Cabin Fever Quilters Guild will be holding its 21st annual quilt show, “Big Sky Stars” featuring featured quilter, Mary Foley. Throughout each day and evening, our concessionaires serve up a variety of delicious food and refreshing beverages to satisfy any craving.
Thursday, we have Family Night at the arena (Jackpot Barrel Racing, Chicken Scramble and Calf Chase).
Friday and Saturday nights draw big crows for the Superior Lions Club’s “Go For The Gold” rodeo (bull riding, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding, breakaway roping, steer wrestling, roping , as well as team roping – tickets on sale from here). July 20).
Don’t miss our parade through the main streets of Superior on Saturday morning (cheers to our Grand Marshals/Fair Board Honorees: Doug and Neva Cummings).
On Saturday afternoon, the Livestock Auction earns our 4-H workers some well-deserved returns on their investments, and the microphones are ready for our Talent Show.
We have a wide range of qualified commercial vendors to consult. Oh, and if you like to cut a rug, join us every evening for our free western party. Band 406 will have your boots rolling on Thursday. You won’t want to miss spinning your partner around this dance floor when Shodown takes the stage on Friday night, and JD & The Western Front will be your heel dosie on Saturday evening.
Our new activities and events for 2022 promise an exciting line-up. On Thursday afternoon, the Missoula Butterfly House & Insectarium will stop by to show us some of the amazing species of insects and arthropods we share our planet with. DSS: Backyard Events will open their educational zoo each day for a hands-on learning experience for the whole family.
The World’s Funnnest Photobooth will provide photographic evidence that you rode a dolphin, rocket, tiger, bull or T-Rex. All three afternoons will feature karaoke, a pie eating contest, kids’ bike rodeo, a visit with our 2022 Rodeo Royalty and special musical guests. Plus, we have amazing giveaways for kids and fabulous giveaways for adults.
As you can see, the Mineral County Fair has plenty of cowboy spirit, homey charm and western fun for all ages. Mark your calendars and join us August 4th, 5th and 6th, 2022 for “FUN GALORE IN THE 54!”
