The Moline City Council, scheduled to begin next week, has released the calendar for the 150th anniversary celebration.
The celebration will begin on Monday, August 22nd with a Mayor’s Luncheon to which Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati has invited all past and present Moline elected officials, current Moline board and commission members and sponsors for the week celebration
On Tuesday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 27, community members are encouraged to come out and take a historic wagon tour from 9 a.m. to noon.
Tours will last about 30 minutes and will be held in downtown Moline. Event attendees will be able to meet the city’s pioneers and founders, such as John Deere and David Sears, and learn about Moline’s rich history. Tours run every half hour and will be loaded and unloaded at the John Deere Pavilion.

The music and art festivals will begin on Thursday, August 25 from 4 to 9 p.m. and will run until Saturday, August 27.
More than 20 bands are scheduled to perform during the three-day music event. There will be two stages, with headliners performing on the MidAmerican Main Stage located under the sky bridge that connects the TaxSlayer Center to the Metrolink station and parking lot.
On Friday, the 5th Day Market will bring its festive feast to River Drive and sell its food and produce during the festival and all three days of the event.
The festival will feature an interactive plaster art display and a children’s zone with bounce houses, face painting, clowns, balloon animals, a coloring book station where young artists can enter a competition to win a free season ticket for the 2023 Riverside Aquatic Center season.
More than a dozen food vendors and beer tents will be available.
River Drive from 12th Street to 15th Street will be closed from Thursday, August 25 to Saturday, August 27 for the festival.
