LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — This weekend, there are plenty of things to do across the state to mark the end of summer and get ready for fall.
Get outside to soak up some of the last summer’s sunshine and smell the flowers before it’s too late, and where better to do it than at Sunken Gardens, right here in Lincoln.
Noyes Art Gallery returns for its tenth year of Art in the Garden, and this year’s theme is Alice in Wonderland.
Two garden designers have built a themed floral display that will be displayed at the event.
Local artists will display their art and even have pieces for sale.
Head to the Sunken Gardens on Saturday from 10-6 for a peek down the rabbit hole.
Omaha’s Midtown Crossing hosts the fourth annual Chalk Art Festival this Sunday from 10-6.
Over the weekend, local artists will transform Farnam Street into works of art.
Watch them work, stroll around the neighborhood, grab a bite or do a little shopping while enjoying this free festival.
Vala’s Pumpkin Patch kicks off its fall season with the Sunflower and Cider Festival.
There will be a daily butterfly release and fireworks show on Friday nights at 9, along with plenty of food and activities for the whole family.
The festivities open today and will last until Sunday, September 18.
The York community invites everyone to Yorkfest this weekend.
The whole family can enjoy funnel cake, go bowling, enjoy drinks and live music tonight, and there are many other events and activities planned throughout the weekend.

Omaha’s fourth annual Chalk Art Festival returns to Farnam Street at Midtown Crossing.
