The Old Town Museum is preparing for the days of the pioneers this Saturday, August 20. This fun-filled family event is in its sixth year, and with expected highs around 85 degrees, it looks like a perfect day before everyone heads back to school.
“We have a full line-up of fun activities for kids and families starting at 2pm,” commented Nikki Wall, director of Old Town. “There will be bounce houses, games, pony rides, a petting zoo, horse-drawn wagon rides, a working chuck wagon with samples, an authentic Sulter (walking general store of the plains), working blacksmith, treasure tank of corn, BB Gun range and of course our Can Can shows and shootouts at 3:30pm and 5:30pm,” he continued.
There will also be food in the form of local food trucks and there will be a beer garden for the adults.
The fun continues into the evening with a concert featuring Stoney LaRue at 8 p.m
“We are very excited to have Stoney in concert,” enthused Wall. “He is a well-known artist in the red earth scene and we are very grateful to have been able to bring him to Burlington with the help of our generous sponsors.”
Tickets can be purchased in person at Old Town, on their website at oldtownburlington.com, or you can purchase tickets on site Saturday.
All-day admission, which includes the concert, is $20 for adults. A day pass is only $10 for adults with children 10 and under who receive free admission.
“Pioneer Days is as much fun as a festival event for us, and we use all proceeds from the event to help us produce our holiday event, Winter Wonderlights,” Wall concluded.
