Mike Christy of Spiro’s Restaurant in downtown Iron Mountain unloads equipment Friday in preparation for the 15th annual Italian Festival, scheduled for noon to 11 p.m. today at the Iron Mountain Downtown Scenic Area. Spiro’s will work with local food vendors Crispigna’s Italian Market and Northside Noodle Company to offer traditional dishes, while Dulce Nulla will bring cannoli, a classic Italian pastry. The event also features live music, wine tasting and several regular festival contests such as the Grape Stomp and Italian Dinner Toss. A free kids’ zone will be open from noon to 4 p.m., with bounce houses, bubbles, chalkboard, a magician and more. Admission is $10 at the door, with children 12 and under admitted free.
