There was a big back-to-school event that took place recently at Raymond James Stadium. It was the fifth annual “Back to School” event.
It was a time for families to come together, celebrate the upcoming school year and collect backpacks with school supplies inside.
Our friends at Fox 13 covered the story and chatted with Thaddeus Bullard, aka Titus O’Neil, who was part of the event.
“Thirty thousand backpacks, we give away school supplies. we have food we have fun We have bounce houses. There is something here for everyone. Once the backpacks are gone, they’re gone. Last year for many teachers was the most challenging year for them, so we want to try to help equip these students, staff and parents with as much as we can on this day.”
Titus O’Neil is a WWE star. He founded the Bullard Family Foundation.
Additionally, AdventHealth was part of the event. They were there for preschool physicals. Before children can participate in sports, they need to know that they are in good physical condition. Even if your child won’t play sports, a physical exam gives you peace of mind as a parent.
Noelle McClellan is a nurse at AdventHealth and said, “There is so much anxiety and so many check boxes to complete before entering the new school year, so anything that can ease everyone’s stress to complete all these tasks and can Enjoy your weekends, that’s what we’re here to do today.”
This event started promptly at 9:01.
O’Neil went on to explain this time: “One stands for unity. I don’t care what background you come from. I don’t care what political affiliation you’re associated with. I just care that you’re a great human being, and that it means unity, everyone coming together for a cause, a moment, and that’s getting the job done.”
