The annual Strassenbash Festival in Wright City is this Friday and Saturday at Diekroeger Park. The festival is again a two-day event this year, with activities starting on Friday evening.
Vendors, family activities, a barrel train and children’s games will be at the park starting at 6 p.m. Friday, along with St. Louis sports mascots Fredbird and Louie. A glow-in-the-dark Bubble Bus party will start at 6pm, and live music from My Friend Mike will start at 7pm. Registered teams will also compete in a cornhole tournament starting at 7 p.m.
Saturday’s events will get off to an early start with a 7:30 sausage and pancake breakfast at Wright City Fire House 1, and a 5K run at 8 a.m. to raise money for the Wright City Parks Foundation.
The Strassenbash parade starts at 11am on Saturday. This year’s parade participants were challenged to decorate their floats with a cartoon theme, and compete to see who can make the best float. The parade will travel through downtown Wright City from North First Street to North Second Street and then to Diekroeger Park.
From there, a full day of activities begins, with many attractions such as bounce houses, a balloon artist and more for children, and live entertainment throughout the afternoon, along with 120 registered vendors.

• From noon to 2 p.m. — Mad Science Demonstrations
• Noon to 2 p.m. — Live music by Mickey Scott
• 1 p.m. — Cornhole Tournament (log in and warm up starting at noon)
• 2-6 pm — Live music by Dawgs at the Smokehaus
• 3-4 pm — Actors of Disney characters and superheroes
• 6-9 pm — Sparkling Foam Party
• 7 pm — Live music by Whiskey Morning
