The North Suburban YMCA is holding its annual Fall Fest, a day of family fun, games and music from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 8 at its outdoor campus, 2705 Techny Road, Northbrook.
Fall Fest features entertainment and activities for all ages, including bounce houses, bingo, carnival food, the Balloon Animal artist and live music, according to a news release. Live music includes The Invaders with Peter Corasis, singer/guitarist, Adam Leutkemeyer, guitarist, and Seamus Hardt, drummer, followed by Bach to Rock bands from 1-3pm.
Water, popcorn and other concessions will be available at the Fall Fest, but no outside food or drink is allowed. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to relax and enjoy live music on the Y’s front lawn, according to the release.
“Events like Fall Fest show the community that the Y is an amazing place for families to have fun and connect with their neighbors,” said Kim Nyren, NSYMCA Director of Community Investments and Events, in the communicated “We’re an organization committed to strengthening our community, so we’re proud to do everything we can to give back to the people we serve.”
The release said the Y is bringing back its popular bingo game this year, where every player is a winner and receives a prize. This family fun event for all ages features 12 games from 12:30pm to 2:30pm; Prizes include gift cards and baskets from local businesses and restaurants, as well as toys and prizes for children. The bingo game will be played with 1960s bingo equipment donated to the Y by the Civic Foundation.
“Our bingo games are so much fun because of this classic equipment,” said Nyren. “The Y is about families and communities, and with bingo, bands and family fun activities, it will be a great gathering. We would like to thank the donation of bingo equipment from the Civic Foundation that brings so much joy and nostalgia to this event.”
Proceeds from the “Fall Fest” activities will go toward financial aid for families in need and help the Y with ongoing operating costs, according to the release.
