This coming Sunday begins a week for “County Pride, All County”. The Perkins County Fair Board has once again filled the coming week with many exciting events for young and old.

Due to changes to 4-H scheduled this year, all activities begin a day earlier on Sunday. with the 4-H horse show at 8am and closes out Saturday the 23rd with another big name country band, BlackHawk.

The schedule is full of something for everyone; from the usual parade crowd favourites, 4 hour animal shows, bounce houses and bingo, to the new attractions of ax throwing, archery and an escape room. The mechanical ox will also return by popular demand.

Thursday morning begins with the Chamber’s breakfast at 6 am

Thursday night entertainment is provided by the Perkins County FFA, who will host the “Olympics of the Farm,” followed by the wild adventures of Mayfield Ranch’s “Bulls & Barrels.”

Bounce houses, putt-putt golf and bingo will be available Thursday through Saturday.

Following the beef show will be a ranch rodeo held Friday evening, in memory of Hoyt Hendricks. Youth are invited to participate in the mutton bust during the ranch rodeo.

The Perkins County Fair Board will host a beer garden Friday and Saturday night.

Saturday begins with the parade that will follow the same route as last year. Registration will take place on the south side of the park, and the line-up will begin on the north side as has been done in the past. Early bird tickets to the parade at Pinnacle Bank are encouraged.

The parade will head down Central Avenue and then west on 3rd St. The route will turn south on Lincoln and then west on 2nd St.

The changes to the parade route are due to the concert being organized starting Saturday morning for BlackHawk. Opening for BlackHawk this year will be Adam Doleac.

Also on Saturday the 4-H barbecue and the tractor pull.
