A music festival that fosters life and hope will return in September.
The Overflow Foundation will hold its second Music & Mocktails event from 6-9pm on Saturday, September 24 at Generations Park, 700 Mack Henry Holland Drive.
The event will feature craft mocktails (mock or fake cocktails) and live music by Ridge Spring native singer, songwriter and musician Cody Webb and Chris Ndeti and Co.
The cocktails served will carry the message that life is feasible and enjoyable without alcohol.
Admission is free, but plan to bring cash or a card for mocktails, food trucks and merchandise.
Vendors include Meadows of Grovetown, serving frozen custard and espresso vendor; Palmetto bowls; Devils; Barbecue for pot smokers; Beefed Up and VinoCaffeino.
“It is with great pain and purpose that we host this event,” said Overflow founder Terry Lee. “The event is in memory of my son Phillip Lee Jr., but it’s also an acknowledgment that September is National Suicide Prevention Month. But, this event is about life and hope, not suicide.”
Lee, a well-known professional singer-songwriter in the Aiken/Augusta area, took his own life on September 6, 2018. The Overflow Foundation was started in his memory.
Guests should bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the concert. Kids can enjoy obstacle course bounce houses and test their athletic skills with basketball and baseball themed challenges.
