NEW ORLEANS – University of New Orleans Athletics will celebrate Homecoming 2022 with a weekend of events highlighted by New Orleans Men’s Basketball and the inaugural Homecoming Tailgate Village.
Starting at 8 a.m. in front of the Lakefront Arena, the Tailgate Village will feature a cooking contest sponsored by the University of New Orleans Alumni Association, food trucks, beverage sales, painting facial, bounce houses and more.
Buccaneers family and friends are invited to reserve tent spaces, tailgate and participate in a family fun day before the game. New Orleans men’s basketball will take on the St. Francis Fighting Saints at 4 p.m. The game will be followed by lakeside fireworks sponsored by the University of New Orleans Foundation.
“We are very excited to bring a tailgating atmosphere to Lakefront Arena before the game against St. Francis. New Orleans is known for hospitality, and we look forward to our Privateer alumni, family and fans showing great spirit of hospitality.” Assistant Director of Athletics Steve Stroud said.
Additionally, the New Orleans Athletics will host the Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday, November 11th.
“Friday night’s induction into the Hall of Fame, the first since 2009, will be extremely special and a must-see for the Privateer faithful. We will be announcing the nominations in the coming weeks,” said Stroud.
