VIENNA, VA — Fall is a great time to get out to Vienna and enjoy the rich festival offerings.
The changing colors of fall provide a scenic backdrop for fall and harvest festivals, which include contests ranging from apple carving and pumpkin carving to lumberjack contests and Halloween parades. Fall is also the season for corn mazes, pumpkins and visits to apple trees.

1. Halloween in green: Saturday, October 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m

2. Open day of the Volunteer Firefighters of Vienna: Saturday October 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m
Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, 400 Center Street S, Vienna, VA
The Vienna Volunteer Fire Department will join other Fairfax County fire stations in hosting an open house to the public on Oct. 15. This event will include an up-close look at emergency vehicles, fire demonstrations, firefighter meetings, a moon bounce and more activities. .
3. Morning leaf walk and artistic fun: Saturday, October 15, from 10:30 to 11:30
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Court, Vienna, VA
This children’s program includes a walk to collect autumn leaves and to learn how leaves change color. Then they will return to the visitor center, enjoy apple cider and use the leaves to create art. The cost is $9 per child, and parents can join with regular garden admission ($3-$6).
4. Fall Fest at Reston Farm Garden Market: Saturdays and Sundays in October

This fall festival includes fun like bounce houses, market train rides, a petting zoo, games, activities, pumpkins, music, food and more. The ticket price is 20 euros for children and 5 euros for adults.

5. Hayrides at Krop’s Crops: Weekends in October, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m

Pumpkin patch rides are offered on weekends. Guests can find apples, apple cider, fall pumpkins and gourds, harvest and Halloween decorations, farm animals and a corn bin for kids to play with.
6. Trunk or Deal: Sunday, October 23, from 2 to 3:30 p.m
Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church, 1301 Trap Rd, Vienna, VA
Take the kids to an afternoon or trunk or treats. The event will include the Ben and Jerry’s ice cream truck, giant bubbles, a photo booth and trunks to collect goodies.
7. Vienna Halloween Parade: Wednesday, October 26, 7 p.m
Maple Avenue between Branch Road and Center Street, Vienna, VA
Vienna’s annual Halloween parade returns with the theme “The Time Machine: Vienna Past, Present and Future”. Applications were submitted until September 16 for the participation of floats. Children and others do not need to register to march in the parade. The meeting place to march in the parade will be at 6 pm on October 26 at United Bank, 374 Maple Avenue E. 8. Trunk or Treat: Sunday, October 30, from 5 to 8 p.m
Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park Street NE, Vienna, VA
Vienna Presbyterian Church will host this event with decorated cars offering candy to children. There will also be music from a DJ, a moon bounce, games and crafts.
9. Trick or Treat: Monday, October 31
Around Vienna, VA
Trick or treating does not have a set time in Fairfax County. So you can expect kids to visit homes to buy candy during the afternoon hours on Halloween, which falls on Monday, October 31.
