Peach Days in Ferron was the traditional week-long celebration, which began last Tuesday with a fun run at the library. On Wednesday evening, from 6 pm, the bicycle march took place in the Mayor’s Park.
On Thursday, a dessert competition and a sidewalk Picasso were held in the Mayor’s Park. That same evening bingo was held in the church on the hill. Dinner was served in the Mayor’s Park and fireworks at dark were the Friday activities.
Saturday was a great day, full of fun and celebration for everyone. Always held in memory of 9-11, the Camp of Flags began at 7:30 a.m. and honored veterans. At 10 a.m., one of Emery County’s largest parades in many years began at the attention center, then continued down Main Street and ended at Canyon Road (First South).
During the morning, the firefighters also provided a breakfast at the fire station. Bounce houses and vendors were set up in both parks throughout the day for the many visitors. A car show filled First East and the old favorite, horse racing, returned to the fairgrounds during the afternoon. A show of dance and play of colors concluded the festivities, marking another successful Ferron Peach Day.
