The party of summer is about to descend on Belfast. It’s the 13th annual street party to be brought to Belfast. Monday August 1 or the NEXT SUNNY DAY!
From 5 to 9:30 p.m., it’s the event that men, women and children of all ages from 3 to 93 look forward to all year long and it’s coming up in just a few days.
Celebrating our exit from the pandemic (we hope!) there will be something for everyone with music, games, food, things to see and things to do. Joining some of the crowd favorites like the bucking bronco and climbing wall is the Kidz Fun Obstacle Course and more. Face painters will decorate the children. Chalk art will be produced. Waterfall Arts has plans and an army of superheroes is expected to attend. Guess and guess! And there’s more!
Best of all…live music all night with Maine Country Music Hall of Famer and Belfast native Don Nickerson and his band Country Mist. The inimitable, the incredible, the often admired but never duplicated Don Nickerson and his amazing band Country Mist will be playing until the wee hours.
Opening the show will be Rock and Roll Hall of Famer from Belfast, Maine, “Captain Obvious”, who will start the show at 5pm. Nobody likes to follow these guys, but somebody has to, and Don Nickerson and his band of brothers are ready.
This year, thanks to the support of Belfast City Council and generous sponsors, travel costs have been halved. Get your bracelet and hand stamped for only 10.00! and you have a ticket to ride all night. Bounce houses are free for all children.
The street will be filled with food, snacks, ice cream and other nutrients to keep everyone happy. The street closes at 3 p.m., to ride and the party starts at 5 p.m. Unless it rains! In this case we are ready for the NEXT SUNNY DAY!
Would you like to help organize the street party? We are looking for volunteers to do very easy tasks like helping to keep a straight line. Volunteer for an hour and help set up the party. If you volunteer, you will receive a FREE 10.00 hand stamp for you or someone you love to ride for FREE.
