Free Family Fun Day on Saturday

The Santa Cruz County Parks, Recreation and Open Space Department, in partnership with the cities of Santa Cruz, Capitola and Watsonville, announced the return of the annual Free Family Fun Day.

This year’s event will be hosted by the city of Watsonville from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Ramsay Park, 1301 Main St., Watsonville.

This multi-agency project is aimed at getting families outdoors during Parks and Recreation Month. The event features food trucks, bounce houses and games for the whole family, as well as the new bomb track at Ramsay Park.

“After a two-year hiatus, we are very excited to be able to host this event again and celebrate Free Family Fun Day with our partners and the community,” said Rebecca Hurley, Parks Superintendent for County Parks of Santa Cruz in a prepared statement. .

The event was held for the first time in 2018 at Simpkins Family Swim Center and Shoreline Middle School. The 2019 event was hosted by the City of Santa Cruz at Harvey West Park and had over 700 attendees.
