Goodbye September! 19 events happening the week of September 24-30 in Greeley, Loveland and surrounding NoCo


The month of September is going out as quickly as it came in! With October and all the creepiness just around the corner, celebrate the end of September by heading out to a variety of events and activities in and around Weld and Larimer counties, as well as across the state and up to Cheyenne.

Check out some of these 19 events happening the week of September 24-30, 2022 for all ages.

Saturday, September 24

1. Join Aims Community College for the Great Aardvark Boat Balloon Release at 6:30 am at 5401 W. 20th St. from Greeley. The free event will feature professional pilots from the Colorado Balloon Club. Attendees will have the opportunity to chat with the pilots and watch the crews as they assemble the balloons for take off. All ages are welcome to attend. 2. The High Plains Environmental Center is hosting an end-of-season native plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon at 2698 Bluestem Willow Drive in Loveland. The sale will feature a variety of different native and perennial plants that use much less water and are adapted to the region’s climate. All ages are welcome to attend. 3. The 6th Annual End of the Trail Kite Festival will begin at 11am at the Pine Bluffs Recreation Center, 1200 S. Beech, in Pine Bluffs, WY. The free event will feature semi-professional kite flyers from the American Kitefliers Association and the Rocky Mountain Kite Association, vendors, bounce houses, crafters and artisans, flight demonstrations and more. 4. The 11th annual Chuckwagon Dinner to benefit Tower 21 is set for 6 p.m. at The State Armory Event Center, 614 8th Ave., Greeley. The event will feature a cocktail hour, dinner, dessert, a silent auction and a performance by magician Ryan Beyer. 5. The Pikes Peak Regional Airshow returns to Colorado at 7 a.m. at the Colorado Springs Airport, 7770 Milton E. Proby Parkway. The event will feature a children’s zone, food and concession stands and performances by the Grumman F7F-3n Tigercat Aerobatics team, a bomber parade, a US Navy EA-18G Growler demonstration and more. 6. Wild Wonderful Weekend: Certified Wild Zone is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. at The Promenade Shops at Centerra, 5971 Sky Pond Drive, Loveland. Kids of all ages and their families can participate in a scavenger hunt, live music, exhibits and hands-on demonstrations, games and more. The event will close with a fireworks display at 9:45 p.m. There is no cost to participate in the activities, however, the concert is $10 per person ages 13 and older. 7. The Party and Food Trucks, organized by the Latino Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 2 to 7 pm at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Ave. in Longmont. 8. The 2022 Hope Floats Water Lantern Festival is scheduled for 4pm at Barr Lake State Park, 13401 Picadilly Road, Brighton. Attendees will have the opportunity to decorate and throw water lanterns, as well as enjoy live music, food trucks and vendor booths. Admission is $59.48 per person ages 15 and older and $18.07 for children ages 8-14. Each ticket includes entry to the event, a water lantern and a marker to decorate your lantern. Sunday, September 25

9. The City of Loveland Farmers Market will take place from 9 am to 1 pm at Fairgrounds Park, 700 S. 10. Angélique Kidjo will perform for the Live at The Gardens concert series at 6:30 pm at 2145 Center Ave., Fort Collins. Kidjo is a five-time Grammy Award-winning artist and one of the most important international voices today. Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Admission is $50 per person. Tuesday, September 27

11. FoCo Roller Derby is hosting a recruit night at 7pm at The Brewhouse, 255 S. Cleveland Ave., Loveland. Adults 18+ are invited to come out to learn about the various open positions, the derby’s mission and vision, practice schedule, team and more. There is no cost to attend. Wednesday, September 28

12. The James Disney/Erik Stensland: Double Vision exhibit will be on display from 10 am to 5 pm at the Loveland Museum, 503 N. Lincoln Ave. The exhibition will include paintings and photographs of the Rocky Mountains created by the artists. All ages can see the exhibition. Admission is $7 per person ages 13 and up. Thursday, September 29

14. Myth Maker Brewing partners with Flingin’ Pots for Make and Paint Gnomes at 6:30pm at 1035 S. Taft Hill Road, Fort Collins. The class, open to adults 21 and older, will teach attendees how to create a clay gnome that can be painted with a variety of different colored ceramic paints. 15. The CSU Jazz Ensembles concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Colorado State University School of the Arts, 1400 Remington St., Fort Collins. Jazz Ensembles I and II, under the direction of Wil Swindler and Shilo Stroman, will perform a variety of pieces and styles of music. Friday, September 30

18. The Colorado Tattoo Convention begins at noon at the National Western Complex, 4665 Humboldt St., Denver.
