The Harvest Festival and Food Truck Rally return to the Detroit Riverfront


Mark your calendar, for the second year, on Detroit Riverfront host the Detroit Harvest Fest and Food Truck Rally along the Via Verda of the Dequindre cut. Bring the kids for trick-or-treating, a free pumpkin patch (with admission), bouncy bounce houses, character visits, 50+ food trucks and more!

The Detroit Riverfront Conservancy is bringing the Detroit Harvest Fest & Food Truck Rally to the Dequindre Cut Greenway again this fall. in The popular family event will have something for everyone, including trick-or-treating, children’s activities, five stages of musical performances by local artists, the “Freightyard Circus” experience and more than 50 food trucks from all over the world. Admission is $5 per person for everyone ages 3 and up. The Harvest Fest & Food Truck Rally will take place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on October 1 and 2 in the Dequindre section. Free parking is available near the entrance to the Cut at Eastern Market (Wilkins St, Detroit, MI 48207).

Family activities are free with the price of admission and include the following:

Trick or Treat: There will be twelve “official” trick-or-treating stations throughout the event. Don’t forget your costumes and come early! Trick-or-treating takes place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Pumpkin Patch: There will be a free pumpkin patch located inside the Gratiot entrance at the Dequindre intersection from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Please note, one pumpkin per child. The pumpkin patch is for children under 12 years of age.
Pumpkin decoration: After choosing your pumpkin, add decorations or paint markers! Pumpkin decorating is available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Inflatable amusement park: Featuring an obstacle course, skeeball, slides and other fun inflatable activities, the inflatable amusement park will be located north of the Lafayette Street entrance near Campbell Terrace.
Arts ‘n’ Scraps Crafting: Make a really creepy or just plain silly mask with recycled materials from Arts ‘n’ Scraps! The station will be located just north of the Lafayette Street entrance near Campbell Terrace.
Michigan Science Center Fun: MiSci will be available with creepy and fun experiments! The museum station will be located near the Kids stage and the Lafayette entrance.
Flagstar Bank Children’s Scenario: Watch circus performers, spooky science shows, magic shows and more!
Character Meet and Greet: Meet your favorite princesses and superheroes, and stay for story time! The characters will be near Campbell Terrace from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

From east to west, the Detroit Riverfront is getting a massive makeover, Check out Delta Dental’s amazing 5-acre playground is funded by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park which will also open to the public in 2023.
