The Carlos Vieira Foundation organized a free event for families living with autism on September 4. The Autism Day BBQ featured free food, games, carnival rides, crafts, bounce houses, a magic show and more. The event took place at Yamato Colony Elementary School in Livingston. This was the event’s first year after a three-year hiatus and there was a record number of over 1,000 attendees.
The Carlos Vieira Foundation thanked the Livingston School District, Yamato Colony Elementary School, 51FIFTY, Autism Speaks, First 5- Merced County, Livingston Community Health, Texas Roadhouse, The Main Event, Jeffrey M Carter DDS, Livingston Recreation, Livingston Police Explorers , PFSA , Merced County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, Livingston Fire Department, Livingston High School FFA, and the High School Hispanic Youth Leadership Council of Livingston for his involvement in making this event possible.
This event was made possible thanks to the Carlos Vieira Foundation’s Race for Autism campaign. The Race for Autism campaign helps communities in 21 Central California counties by fundraising, donating to local organizations, raising awareness, hosting community support events and providing grants to families through the Direct Aid Subsidy Program.
