The Sant Raymond Pumpkin Festival is back
The St. Raymond Pumpkin Festival returns Friday, Oct. 14 and Saturday, Oct. 15, returning after a two-year pandemic hiatus, according to a news release from the school.
Tickets for games and activities, food and drinks will be available for purchase.
Activities will include pony and train rides, carnival games, a pumpkin patch, bungee jumps, bounce houses, bake sales, face painting, frisbee art and more.
There will be some special events on Friday, October 14, including a live band, a boo-tique and an appearance by the Stanford University Cardinal mascot.
The festival runs from 15:30 to 21:00 on October 14 and from 15:00 to 17:00 on October 15.
The school St. Raymond is located at 1100 Santa Cruz Ave. in Menlo Park. Entry is free.

The county makes school masking optional
Students throughout San Mateo County can decide for themselves whether to wear a personal mask at school.
As of September 23, wearing a mask is now a matter of “personal preference,” the first change since a strong recommendation for indoor masking, regardless of vaccine status, came into effect effective March 1, according to a district-wide announcement. San Mateo County is currently at the Centers for Disease Control’s lowest level of community spread.
The new recommendation builds on California’s SMARTER Plan, the next phase of California’s COVID-19 response that was announced earlier this year. Focused on long-term health and safety, the SMARTER Plan calls for masking when and where the risk of disease transmission is high.
Individuals are encouraged to use information about the current Community Levels (CCLs) of COVID-19 in their county to decide which prevention behaviors to use and when, taking into account their risk tolerance as well as their susceptibility to disease serious and that of its members. home Low, medium, and high community levels are based on hospitalization rates, hospital bed occupancy, and the incidence of COVID-19 during the previous period.
School staff returning from isolation or who have been exposed to someone who has tested positive are still required to wear a face mask.
