Spooky season is upon us and it’s time to get your fill of all things Halloween. The Haunted Season is usually a fan favorite with all the ghosts, ghouls and gore that comes with it.
From not-so-spooky activities for the little ones to scary places for the grown-ups, SouthCoast is ready to embrace all things Halloween.
There are carved pumpkins to see, sweets to enjoy, spooky decor to admire and scares to be had in this list of all the spooky things happening in the area. There’s no shortage of activities this fall to fill your calendars with Halloween fun, so grab your costumes, get your goodie bags ready, and enjoy these wacky events.

Factory of Terror is an indoor haunted house that offers a terrifying and chilling experience. Featuring realistic and detailed rooms with cutting-edge special effects and horror actors with professionally applied make-up and prosthetics.

There are three haunted houses that offer over 45 minutes of chilling scares. In addition to the haunted houses, Fear Town has a midway full of games, experiences, food and entertainment to enjoy.

Celebrate the Halloween season with a visit to Roger Williams Zoo’s Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. Stroll down a path lined with thousands of intricately carved pumpkins. This year’s spectacular is brought to you by Mr. Ed on The Walking Dead, celebrating the greatest TV shows of all time.

Boo at the Zoo satisfies all your fall, Halloween and cool weather cravings. Dress up and enjoy daytime trick-or-treating across campus.

Trick or treat! Connect with loved ones, embrace spirituality and entertain tarot, mediumship, healing and wellness. It brings together 30-40 New England paranormal and witch craft vendors, psychics and witches from around the region.

Cost: adult $25; child (6-12) $12; 5 and under free
The Great Pumpkin Smash with costume contests for kids, adults and cars, as well as over 10,000 pounds of squashed pumpkins on the race track. There are also drag spectators, car and truck enduro, figure 8 racing, backward racing, trailer racing, drag enduro, enduro racing and more.

Where: Blazing Saddles, 263 Mill Road, Fairhaven
Cost: $15 per person over 2 years old
The animal sanctuary is raising money for the animals, so get your costume on and have some fun. The event will feature a petting zoo, trunk or treats, pictures, vendors, Bluey, a reptile show and a bounce house. For an additional cost, there are also camel encounters, pony rides and pumpkin picking.

Where: Rotch-Jones-Duff House & Garden Museum, 396 County St., New Bedford
Cost: suggested donation of $5 individual and $10 family
Visit the grounds to see a display of Jack-O-Lanterns, carefully carved by community members. Inside the mansion, children can participate in a scavenger hunt with prizes and refreshments will be served.

Where: Battleship Cove, 5 Water St., Fall River
Cost: $10 per person
Call or gift aboard Battleship Cove’s historic naval vessels and meet friendly costumed characters as you tour the museum. The price includes sweets, activities and entrance to the museum. At the end of the night there will be a raffle with great prizes.

Cost: $20 for adults, under 18 with one adult free.
Halloween costume party honoring Joseph Pittsley, a young Wareham resident who died of brain cancer. There will be Halloween snacks, costume prizes, raffles and DJ Dstruct.

You will have a “spectacular” time at the Halloween Happening event. Dress up and enjoy: a trick-or-treat trail, outdoor games, pumpkin painting, meet and greets with members of the police and fire departments, and there will be food for purchase.

Where: Copicut Woods, Indian Town Road, Fall River

Superstitions have long surrounded Copicut Woods and rumors of witchcraft and other paranormal activity circulate on the property to this day. On Halloween weekend, explore the history of the local Copicut tradition. This guided walk will take you through a derelict farming settlement and the 150-year-old stone-walled Miller Lane.

‘Wild Nites’ will be a party from 8pm until midnight with prizes for the best costume and the best couple’s costume. There will be spooky shots and a limited menu.

The 1922 silent horror film “Nosferatu” has been terrorizing audiences for 100 years. Join us this Halloween weekend for a spectacular live performance of a new rock soundtrack that breathes new life into the undead classic. Paul Bielatowicz (Carl Palmer, ELP, Neal Morse) has put together an all-star band for this very special event – expect scares, laughs, audience participation and FANGtastic fun. RKO Army performs a live shadow show from The Rocky Horror Picture Show on stage as the 1975 film starring Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon plays on the screen. The cult classic holds a unique place in film history, and this live-action iteration offers an unconventional interpretation for enthusiasts and first-timers alike. Audience participation is strongly encouraged.
