A boat parade, an Ida Aid festival and a benefit fishing rodeo are available this weekend.

Join a boat parade down Bayou Lafourche
Boaters are invited to join a parade Saturday down Bayou Lafourche in Thibodaux.
Friends of Bayou Lafourche is sponsoring the Boat parade and poker float. Paddle or motorized boats are allowed. It’s free to participate.
The procession will begin at 2 p.m. at the Jean Lafitte Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center, 314 St. mary st Boats will travel approximately 1 1/2 miles to the new Nicholls BayouSide Park and back. Live music is scheduled at various points along the way.
Boaters can also pay $10 to enter a poker game, with the winner receiving a Gatr 45 cooler. Details about the event and the rules of the poker float can be found at bayouLafourche.org.

Ida Aid: Enjoy food and music for a cause
A festival with live music and food Saturday in Larose will benefit local nonprofits that have helped residents recover from Hurricane Ida.
The Ida Aid benefit is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Larose VFW Hall, 232 VFW St. Entry is free.
Sponsored by the Lafourche Concert and Events Club, the event was scheduled two days before the first anniversary of the storm.
“In a community still reeling from the massive blow this storm dealt our bayou community, this day will be one of healing and remembrance,” the group says.
Local non-profit organizations will be selling food. Bands scheduled to perform include Tet Dur, the Bayou Believers, Benjamin Bruce, the Acadians and the Hemptations.

Fishing rodeo and fair to benefit the Houma school
Sant Mateu Episcopal School in Houma welcomes the community to participate annual fishing rodeo friday and saturday
There are more than $1,000 in prizes in a dozen categories for children and adults.
A party starts at noon on Saturday outside the school, on Barrow and Belanger Streets, with food, face painting, bounce houses and live music. The stairs will be open from noon to 3pm
Your fishing rodeo ticket purchase benefits the school and enters you for a chance to win a door prize.
Fishing rodeo tickets are available for $30 for adults and $15 for children. Party-only tickets can be purchased for $10 each.
