The Lewisville Public Library is hosting an open house for families with children and teenagers. Enjoy the Western Days festival
Lewisville Western Days returns to Old Town Lewisville. The two-day festival will include music, food and family activities. The event will feature entertainment and more. Learn to fly fish
The Lake Lewisville Environmental Learning Area hosts a fly fishing clinic. The Dallas Fly Fishers will teach participants the basics of fly fishing, including how to cast, tie basic fly fishing knots, discuss various types of flies, learn about aquatic ecosystem health and more. Participants will need warm clothing, eye protection, hat, sunscreen and drinking water. All fly fishing gear will be provided. Clean and recycle
Keep Flower Mound Beautiful is hosting its semi-annual fall cleanup. The event will begin with a trash pick up from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by an environmental fair from 10 a.m. to noon and a recycling pick up from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fall cleanup will be held at Flower Mound High School. parking lot at the corner of Sagebrush Drive and Old Settlers Road. Participants are invited to recycle paper, electronics, clothing, stationery, plastic bags and wrappers and wire hangers. There will also be a medicine and glasses delivery service. Lunch will be provided. Groups and individuals can register for trash collection on the organization’s website. 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Free. Listen to music
The City of Highland Village kicks off its 2022 Concerts in the Park series on October 1st. The free, family-friendly event will take place on the first three Saturdays of the month. The series will feature performances by local bands and food from food truck vendors at Doubletree Ranch Park. Live 80 will perform on October 1st, followed by Jukebox Heroes on October 8th and Texas Flood on October 15th. Overflow parking will be available at Copperas Branch Park and a shuttle will begin operating at 6:30 p.m. The event starts at 19:00 Free (admission). Fire and police teams from across North Texas will come together for the annual Battle of the Badges softball tournament hosted by the Lewisville Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. The opening ceremonies will begin at 11:30 a.m., and the first pitch will be at 8 a.m. The charity event benefits the LCPAAA.
