The farmers market is coming to the end of the season
The Township of Hampton Farmer’s Market is held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Oct. 12 in the lower parking lot of the Hampton Community Center, 3101 McCully Road.
2022 vendors include Bates & Hayes Kettlekorn, Carlos Aviles Farms, Cindy Munchies, Cunning House Supply Co., Gabriel’s Gardens, Halal Gyro Guys, Loafers Bread Co., Mazzotta Winery, Olive & Marlowe, Russelton Bee Works, Saylors Farm and Sweetwater Farms. .

The President’s Challenge
Join the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association for the 22nd Annual President’s Challenge 5K Run/Walk/Wheel at 9 a.m. Oct. 8 at the North Park Boathouse. The event benefits the Steelwheelers, an organization dedicated to providing programs for athletes with physical disabilities in western Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and eastern Ohio. Olé 5K in North Park
TASH’s 14th annual Olé 5K will take place at 10 a.m. Oct. 8 at Harmar Grove Pavilion in North Park.
TASH is a non-profit organization based in Pittsburgh that has been working in Oaxaca, Mexico since 1998. It aims to unite the Pittsburgh community with the people of Mexico.
At the end of the race there will be a Mexican buffet, organic Oaxacan coffee, smoothies, a 50/50 raffle, music and an awards ceremony.

Scheduled university fair
More than 120 colleges and universities will participate in the North Pittsburgh College Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Kerr Fitness and Sports Center on the La Roche University campus in McCandless. Sealarks Women’s Group
The Sealarks Women’s Group will meet at 1:00pm on October 12th at Memorial Park Church, 8800 Peebles Road in McCandless. The group offers Christian togetherness and social activity for women only: widows, divorcees or never married. All single women are welcome to attend and consider participating. Mark your calendars for these events at the Depreciation Lands Museum, 4743 S. Pioneer Road, Hampton:
• Lamppost visits, October 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. A historic, quiet and family alternative to Halloween. Prepaid tickets are required.
• Beggar’s Day, Sunday, October 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The last Sunday to visit the museum for the season offers the old-fashioned Halloween “pidolation” for all costumed children.

Trunk or treats
Shaler Township will hold a Trunk or Treat at Kiwanis Park on October 15th at 5pm. The best decorated car wins a prize. Participants must register online at shaler.org by October 10. After the Trunk or Treat, stay at the Movies in the Park with “Hocus Pocus” at dusk.
Autumn festival
Shaler’s Fall Fest is scheduled for October 8th from 6-9pm at Kiwanis Park. There will be bounce houses, games, a hay maze, pin scramble, crafts and more. Attendees can make their own smores and decorate pumpkins. There will also be hot dogs, drinks and other treats.
