This is the premise behind it Play music on porch day, which is Saturday August 27.
It’s simple to participate.
Pick up the instrument of your choice and play some tunes. If you’re feeling fancy, film it and post the video with the hashtag #playmusicontheporchday. Have fun.
New festival
Pleasant Prairie will be even nicer this weekend when the Pleasant Prairie BBQ in the Park comes to the RecPlex Ballfield Pavilion all day and into the early evening.
This kitchen has it all: bands, bags, bingo, bounce houses for the kids, food trucks and free fun spread over two days.

Saturday’s festivities start at 11.30 and will last until 9.00 pm. Live music begins Saturday at noon with jazz, soul and funk performed by the Kal Bergendahl project. Next up at 2pm is the bluesy soul folk rocker Karen Shook. After some bingo, it’s time for the music Pat Garrett at 5 pm, closing with weird science At 7 pm
The Sunday party is from 11.30am to 4.30pm, with music provided Cork and Classics at noon, and music provided Indigo Canyon from 3 in the afternoon
Pleasant Prairie BBQ in the Park is Saturday and Sunday, August 27-28, at the Pleasant Prairie RecPlex Ballfield Pavilion, 9900 Terwall Terrace in Pleasant Prairie. Entry is free. You can find a full program of events at pleasantprairiebbq.com. People driving to the event are asked to use Hwy 165 and the Terwall Terrace entrance. Use Lot E2 and Lot B (Park and Ride). Lawn chairs and blankets may be brought. No other handheld equipment or pets allowed.
Saturday night music
Expect another high-energy show Saturday night at George’s Tavern in Racine. Mykal Baas and the delivery guys i Spirit Shakers both will make you move and smile.
The Spirit Shakers fall under a large Americana umbrella with touches of folk, rock and alternative. It’s still rock ‘n’ roll to me.
And also Mykal Baas and the Delivery Men with their rock and jamming set. This show blows!
Mykal Baas and the Delivery Men and the Spirit Shakers will perform starting at 9 Saturday night, August 27, at George’s Tavern, 1201 N. Main St. in Racine.
Electronic show
Kenosha Harbor has long been known for punk and hard rock nights, and before that, the blues.
The iconic house bar will host four different electronic artists on Saturday night.
Dead language decoder is Dove Paige Anthony’s electronic project of hybrid synth soundscapes, densely layered with found sounds designed for musical expression.
Artie Do Good is the beat project of composer/trombonist Christopher Arthur Misch-Bloxdorf, who combines jazz, soul and indie rock with his ever-present experimentation.
Jeff Noise together d(VICE) during the pandemic to unleash his creativity on a solo electronic audio collage project. He’ll be showing selections from “Late-Stage Civilization,” his new 21-track recording on Bandcamp. “Think Negativland-style culture interspersed with funky bass lines,” according to Noise.
Torrahbull is “indie instrumental hip hop and breaks with a bit of industrial,” according to Justin Misch. These things will attract you.
Torrahbull, d(VICES), Artie Do Good and Dead Language Decoder perform from 9pm on Saturday, August 27 at the Port, 714 50th St. in Kenosha.
The concert series continues
guitarist They cut Noble Latz he has been carrying a guitar and leading bands since he was 7 years old.
The blues and rock musician has shared the stage with many big names, including Joe Bonamassa, Los Lonely Boys, Devon Allman, Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Hubert Sumlin, Jackson Browne, Ana Popavic, Chris Duarte, Walter Trout and more.
This year, the now-adult star is hosting a series of shows called One Hell of a Summer Series. Each show has a different feel and different programming.
For show No. 5 of eight, which takes place Friday on Route 20, Latz has created a G3-style event inspired by Joe Satriani, who first inspired him.
Latz will be joined by Blacktop Kings guitarist Jeff “Mitch” Mitchell and Electric Revolution Slayer Brock Betz. The opening performer is Electric fog.

The Tallan Noble Latz Summer Guitar Series continues at 8pm on Friday, August 26 with special guests Brock Betz and Jeff “Mitch” Mitchell at Route 20, 14001 Washington Ave. in Sturtevant.
