Looking for something free and fun to do this Saturday? Head to Beaumont’s giant fire hydrant

The Beaumont Fire Department and the Texas Fire Museum will educate the public about fire prevention and safety this weekend.

The two entities will host the annual Fire Prevention and Family Safety Party on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will take place on the grounds of the Museum of Fire at 400 Walnut St. of Beaumont. Just look for the giant fire hydrant.

This free event celebrates Fire Prevention Month, which is held in October.

“Our overall goal for this event is to educate our community about fire safety and prevention in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere,” Dana Ward, Texas Fire Museum coordinator, said in a news release.

There will be food, local vendors from all over Southeast Texas, games, bounce houses, prizes and demonstrations by Beaumont Fire/EMS personnel.
