As the weather slowly cools and the leaves on the trees turn orange, several businesses, organizations and groups in the Turlock area are gearing up to properly celebrate with fall and Halloween themed events.
With Halloween less than four weeks away, community members are already getting into the spooky spirit. At RAM Farms in Turlock, visitors can not only pick a pumpkin for their baking or carving needs, but they can also test their skills in their popular 20-acre corn maze, which is inaugurated on September 30. There will also be entertainment on hand. way of the staff’s new Halloween video show. The original show airs every evening at dusk and replaces Movies Under the Stars. RAM Farms is located at 716 N. Entertainment will also be in abundance at the Resendiz Fruit Barn in Hughson. The Fruit Barn will have its usual setup of a mini hay maze within its pumpkin patch. This year, kids can also take part in pony rides, bounce houses, face painting, tricycle rides and more. Resendiz Fruit Barn is located at 4342 Geer Rd. Pumpkins are also plentiful at Hughson’s J&J Ramos Farms. Customers can pick pumpkins of all sizes while browsing their selection of pumpkin-based candies and other fall treats. J&J Ramos Farms is open 7am to 6pm daily and is located at 2507 Geer Rd.
Speaking of treats, one of the most popular snacks associated with Halloween is candy, which can be found at various trick-or-treating events in the area.
This Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the festivities will begin at Pitman High School when the fourth annual ValleyDreamCar Trunk-Or-Treat event takes place. This event will feature a wide range of custom cars and trucks. Tickets, vehicle registration and a donation box can be found on Eventbrite, with all proceeds going to two $1,000 scholarships for students in the local car community. There will also be vendors for attendees. Pitman High is located at 2525 Christoffersen Parkway.
Kids will also be able to grab more treats on Oct. 29 in downtown Turlock when the Downtown Business Owners Committee, HeyTurlock and Alegria Performing Arts Academy team up for the return of the Trick-Or-Treat event in downtown Turlock. The event takes place from 13:00 to 15:00
On Halloween, the community events will continue with two more events in Turlock and Hilmar.
In Hilmar, Holy Rosary Church will host a giveaway event for local children to dress up and receive free candy from 6-8pm on October 31st. The parish is still accepting vehicles to register for the event and can do so at bit.ly/tort22.
In Turlock, K-9’s on the Move pet daycare at 1001 S. Berkeley Ave. will be packing from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on October 31. Apart from sweets, the business will offer other snacks and refreshments. while showing some family movies. Vehicle and other event donations can be made on their website, www.k9sonthemove209.com.
